Light in the Darkness

I sit trapped in my own mind
Shivering, suffocating
For me there’s no escape
It’s always there
Lurking waiting
Wanting me to surrender
Once again to the
Darkness
Where it waits
Then there you are
Warm and safe
I cling to you
You keep them away
The demons that torment
My soul
They’re still their
But they won’t come near
You’re the light in my dark

@ClaireSheppard keep writing Claire, it's such an outlet. I used to do it a lot myself, i know how cathartic it is for the soul. And remember it's always darkest just before the new dawn. I've always found that just when things are at their bleakest something good arrives from nowhere and lifts me out of it. This will be true for you too xx

I am glad you been in darkness and I appreciate it, that you are not living in shadow not understanding light or darkness, I enjoyed reading your poem keep it up .. 😊🙏
