if he stops being your friend because you think that you guys should go a little slower on that, then maybe he is not good friend material. and for that matter, probably wouldnt be the best partner. talk to him, Be honest and wait for a response. you gotta weed out the bad friends anyway, saves a lot of trouble in the future.
