I want things back to the way they were

I screwed up and didn't realize how bad,
I never realized I could make you that sad,
and now you're down,
sinking into your own thoughts,
as I'm here thinking I had brought,
you back,
but it's not the same,
and the only one around that I can blame,
is myself for letting things get to this point,
and I try not to let myself get too sad,
but I've made myself shown to you in a new light,
and now I think it'll never return,
because I've earned,
my place,
so I'll try to give you space,
until you're ready to just look at me again.
One day I hope we can have it back,
but I don't see it any time soon,
just know I still feel the same way as I always have,
and I want nothing to change,
but it has,
and I'm just full of remorse,
I want to change course,
before things get worse,
but only time will tell,
until then I only wish you well,
and when you're ready for me,
I'll be standing here with open arms,
to accept you in my life again.
