• Have you already decided what you want to do with your life? Do you know what college you want to go to, what you want to major in, and what you want to do after college? How did you decide? If you're already graduated, what are you doing now? What made you decide to do it? Are you happy with your job?

Or are you still as clueless as me? :)

  • @justchatamy Because of pride, I decided to take Physics.haha.

My lowest grade in high-school is Physics. I'm not sure if it is me or my teacher is just that not good. I didn't learn that much in highschool. I wanted to prove something and slap my degree on her face.

So i took a degree in Applied Physics major in Materials Physics since I also liked chemistry.

I guess, this depends on your interests?

  • @liliputian1 you have a sweet revenge for your teacher..😇😈

  • @justchatamy we have different education system but something like this: your elementary school junior high and high scool are combined to 9yrs "basic knowledge school", you know mats, languake, chemistry, history etc. After this you can choose high school witch i think is the same as your College 3-4 yrs, other option is Technical shool 2-4yrs. I didn't know what to do so "i went where the fence is easyest to go over" (thats a saying in Fin and means lazy people). Technical school. Afther that a few months summer vacation and to the 1yrs army service (we run around in our own woods and play war) yeah of cause there is a lot of knowledge how to survive under heavy gunfire etc. Really serious stuff. U know Finns got intependence as we had war against Russia 1918. They had the manpower and gear to run us over 10 times in a day but poor leadership in war... Sorry i got carried away.. Anyway good luck whatever you choose it will be fine :D

  • @justchatamy Well, I plan on graduating next year, starting some private business like tour agency, restaurant, smaller hotel or something similar and continue my 2nd studies which is web development. That's my goal. What's yours?

  • @justchatamy said in College? Major? Career? Have you decided?:

Like @Valve things are a little different over here. We have Infant and Junior schools, now-a-days often combined and the we move onto Senior school (ate age 11) If we then choose we can go further via Collage and eventually onto Uni.
I never went further than Senior school.
From some of the bad things I experienced via standard state schooling years I wasn't interested in progressing to higher education.
With hindsight I should of go on to collage and really tried to make something of myself.
I did various basic job just to earn some coin for a few years and ended up in a factory where I was making casters for shopping trolley wheels. Here I saw my calling..... Fork Lift Trucks. It took me some time but I eventually got my license to drive a basic truck. As a job I feel in love with it. Something I enjoy (regardless of the workload) and furthermore something I excel at to.
This aided me in pursuing my working hearts desire which is to play music. I've been a disc jockey now for 22 years and although I don't make a living out of it, I can think of nothing I enjoy more in my solo spare time.
My fall back thing was I've always had an interest in teaching. This is something I have also considered myself good at.... showing people how things are done, communication, explaining things in a way that many types of people can understand and learn from. Now I've hit my 40's this is how I wish to proceed forward, somehow, someday.
When it comes to a career the key thing to remember, and if possible achieve, is job satisfaction.

You could be doing the worst job in the world but if you have a good team around you and you feel a sense of achievement at the end of the day then it's worth keeping hold of. Not every job you love brings this.

  • @justchatamy I’m mainly seeing my future in animation or illustration as an art career(as my knack for drawing and sketching things onto my sketchbook) I see it as a limitless opportunity for people as of many one can see it art and anything you can do with it can bring you to any sort of grand reward in life of being proud for the fact you are a content creator and that the world is just what you can create for or just create in general anything and on the topic of how I’d get there is mainly on the bachelors of animation or illustration at Sheridan college(it’s well known for being one of the most successful art education faculties in Canada) so I’m really hoping for the future of my life with art
