What kinds of books have you read recently and would recommend to us?

I am reading two books right now, whenever I find the time that is. One is "Can't hurt me" by David Goggins. He talks about his own life that is so fucked up, you wouldn't believe it. And yet every few blows that life dealt him, he learned something, trying to turn his life around a couple of times. In the end he succeeds. It's a great read I tell ya.
The second book I'm reading is "On becoming a person" by Carl Rogers, one of the great personalities of psychology. This book talks about his psychological method, but since this method is so unique in it's focus, it really speaks to the core of being human and can teach us how to create deeper relationships. That's what it really is about.

Recently got interested in learning to write. Decided to pick up Stephen King's "On Writing". Not exactly academic but insightful in the mind of a novelist.

@pe7erpark3r I enjoy most books of most genres but my favorite would be science and political related topics, I enjoy learning something when I finish a book rather than just a good story
-
I am not a avid reader as I used to be in the past, but my favorite genre would be the fantastic ones. I mean, when I read a book I expect to forget about real world for a few and try to get into the skin of the main character, so if the story is close to reality I can't have my escape of reality!

its about a dystopian futureGeorge Orwell wrote some amazing peaces that's for sure. Have you read animal farm? That also grips you like crazy. About 1984: I have this burning sensation, that we are slowly sliding into such a reality. And it all comes in the guise of "tolerance". People lose their jobs because they say "one should not use the n-word" (pronouncing the n-word), presenting both sides of an argument, will have serious percussions (see
), parents are forced by teachers to meat the gender counsil...
the title says it allThat sounds really interesting. Maybe I'll look into that.

@pe7erpark3r
Damn dude you have some fire taste in books, animal farm encompasses socialism perfectly, we can agree on that. And completely agree with you on that pc culture point you made. When we tolerate everyone and everything, we also start agreeing with bullshit, and that's never good for any civilisation. We have given too much power to words. AGREED.
if you like those kinda books then I suggest this one too
