@wtfjudith for me st beautiful place was Luxor in Egypt. Within hours I feel in love with a magical city ozzing with history, people that are warm and welcoming and a climate that was perfect... valley of the kings on the other side of the nile,2km avenue of sphinxes up to the gates of the temple of Luxor.... can you tell I miss it lol
Woah, I have a fascination with Egyptian history but I heard rn it wasn’t really safe to travel to.. But wasn’t the weather really warm? At what time of the year did you go to get that perfect climate?

@wtfjudith It was a few years ago that I went now, but we went in march/april time. To be straight up we were also told that it wasn't safe. Over there they have two types of police force.... the local police (regular local issues etc) and the tourist police (these dudes are there for the protection of the tourists). Basically even if you can't see law-enforcement, they are there. Any problems, shout out loud and they will come running lol.
We were advised not to leave the complex without a tour guide due to being ripped off an all that jazz... but when it came to it the locals are great. Most of the shop owner's in non tourist hot spots (ie: sharm el sheikh or maybe cairo) invite you in, offer you local tea or cans of coke and just want to sit and chat. No genda, no trying to get you to buy something. I even went out on my own, met up with two locals, one a secuirty gaurd at my hotel ( met his wife, daughter and mother ) , i think he wanted a better tip to be fare, and a tatoo guy from the hotel that took me to meet his family, a genuine fella that wanted to learn english. Their homes were worlds apart, one rich... one not. I travelled on local buses to .. (the non tourist ones) sheesh girl that was an experience... you jump on while moving, squish in where ya can and jump off when ya need to ....
as you can tell.... i had a fab time.
As for the Temple of Luxor .... wooooow . The sound and light tour ( google it )one of Egypt's three main tourist attraction's after the pyramids... phenomenal (also the largest base area temple in the world for square km.... wtf... those ancient peeps had some time on their hands to develop that, thats for sure ....
sorry for the ramble... as you can tell ... I <3 Egypt -
