• @Zen00 i need more context. Love and hate are equally matched. No one is more powerful than the other. They are on the same number line thag has both positive and negative integers, so as an example +5 is 5 points in love and -4 is 4 points in hate. Now among +5 and -4, which ones stronger? If you say +5, you obviously failed high school math. Anyways, even if we ignore that theory, and do assume love and hate both have fixed powers, you still can't compare them, can you? Coz contrary to popular belief hate is not the opposite of love. Hate is just love gone bad. You hate an ex bf/gf as much as you loved him/here(same scale, remember)? The opposite of love is apathy, not hate. Someone or something that you loved once loses value only when they stop affecting you. There's bad love, but love none the less, when you say you hate your ex. But the day when his/her's life or actions stop having an effect on you, this is when love ends.

    Hate is just love gone bad.

    I like this a lot and I completely agree with your answer. Many people would choose love because “love conquers all”, but I always viewed hate the same way you do. I don’t see it as an opposite. They’re both very passionate feelings and I think with hate there’s passion. Saying that hate is love gone bad is a really nice way of explaining that c:

  • @Mr-Pool I have heard the hypothesis that hate is not the opposite of love quite a few times being proclaimed as the truth. And there is certainly something to be said about that. But, I really don't agree. If anything I have always viewed these 3 as a triangle of opposites.

    I do however completely agree that hate can be love gone bad. But when I think about hate I always have to think about the martyrdom that the victims of the nazis had to go through or what they did to people in the gulags, or the actions of the infamous Unit 731. In these instances you can see an incredible evil unleashing itself on fellow humans, mostly strangers or "the other", but especially in the gulags socialists and party members just as well. There is such an intense hatred against human beings that nobody really could deny the existence of evil in this world.

    Love and hate can only exist where there is people experiencing and enacting them. The same goes for apathy – a machine is not apathical: it just is not conscious. With this in mind let me bring up another harsh example: Imagine you see a child dying of hunger at the side of the road and you had a bag of food in your hand. Say you didn't give the child any food and let it die, because you either hated the child – for whatever reason – isn't this soooo very close to being completly apathical towards it? Couldn't you say that behind your apathy hides an immense hate? IMHO in such situations apathy and hate become hardly distinguishable, for their locale is always the person – you.

    What is stronger? I haven't been asked so I'm not going to tell you what I think about that ;-)

  • meh, i don't see why not

    @pe7erpark3r yes

    I'm so glad I asked, your post would have been completely useless after the next name change :joy:

  • @pe7erpark3r
    But u wrote my name !!!

  • @Mr-Ghost Do you actually think ghosts exist? If so, what do you think their boundaries are? why do you think theyre here ?

  • @Zen00 in my opinion, ghosts exist, about the boundaries, um, i am not sure about that, "why they're here", 'cause every time you get a random chill, is because there's a ghost there

  • @Zen00 I would say that love(at least for me) is stronger. I say this because hatred is a reaction and while love is also a reaction it cannot be consciously stopped while the conditions creating it exist. You can however refuse to hate and alter your actions accordingly. I suppose for some people this may be true for love as well, but not for me.

  • @Roland-Hill Is that a question? :thinking_face:

  • @Zen00
