Here we are again
I stare down at you
Longing to touch you again
Aching to feel your caress again
Life is so hard
I want the old comfort
Needing the old embrace
My hand trembles as I reach for you
I close my eyes
Silently I tell myself
“Can’t go back.
Can never go back.”
But everything with you
Was easier to bear
I know you’d understand
That you wouldn’t care
But we parted
We can never be the same
I walked away
I turned my back
I swore I was better off
Without you
Yet here I am again
Wanting to pick back up
Can we forgive
Will we forget
Then I feel it
Your tender kiss
And the empty promises
As you mark me once again

@ClaireSheppard have you ever thought of getting published? I know that's a tough process but you have the dual virtues of A. Being clearly good enough to warrant it amd B. having that rare gift of being able to speak to people's hearts so they relate to your words, a cursory glance at the comments you receive tells you that. I'd buy a copy. Just sayin'

@Scottish actually I have but not for poetry. I have some novels I’m working on when I’m not busy doing everything else. And my poetry is just me letting words be shaped by feelings and such.

@GreyWind I’m glad you like them. I have quite a few poems. Easiest way I know to look them up is to search tags and writers and it’s easy to find my poems since I tag them all with writer
