What's the most physically painful thing you remember experiencing?

  • I have a low pain threshold in general maybe I'm just a wuss, I'm positive there's more people here that's experienced worse pain lol. I was probably low on Iron or vitamins but I formed cracks on the corner of my lips and kept picking on them.

Went to San francisco and ate crabs got infected, my mom put cold sore medication on my entire lips! It broke out in blisters which peeled so theres deep bloody crater holes all over my lips it was so painful! If you have triphobia the appearance of those holes would make your brain itch. Lips It got so swollen too it caused more layers of skin to peel. It felt extremely raw to the point any breeze that came through was shocking. The pus and the blood caused my mouth to shut. It hurt to talk and I had a really bad fever. The pain had me crying at night and random times during the day. It took me about a week to recover before everything scabbed this deep dark purple it was actually a pretty color of purple.

During my healing time all I had was ensure through a straw and mouth wash through a straw to rinse my mouth ooof

Anyways, can anyone tell me a painful experience they had or are going through at this moment?

  • @Littlelion12 I've twice had cracked ribs, once from crashing out mountain biking, once i wiped out snowboarding and landed on a rock. That's pretty agonising, had to sleep propped up on my back for a week or so each time. I don't think anything comes close to a broken heart though, gimme the physical pain anytime. In fact that can be kinda nice lol

  • @Littlelion12 I broke my neck in pieces

  • Anything with balls

  • @Scottish say no more fam lol

  • @xsome1x Hohoh I bet

  • @Hyde In pieces??

  • @Littlelion12 literaly a bit..I crashed a wall with my bycycle as a kid when i was 14 in full speed...and broke my neck in two so there is a scar left on my neck's side it was kinda painful i remember blood

  • @Hyde Like, your neck spine?

  • @Littlelion12 I was once going through the final afternoon rehearsal of a play I was due to perform in later that night when a stunt went wrong and I ended up with a knife in me (albeit only a relatively small pocket-knife), about an inch above my belly button. I barely felt the injury itself, but upon arrival at hospital it was deemed necessary to cut me open some more to do an exploratory op for investigation purposes in case any internal organs had been caught. The op did more damage than the knife wound, but it was the safe call the make just in case (I was okay, it had just been a flesh wound). I still have a lovely scar, of course.

Unfortunately either they didn't pump me with enough anasthetic or I was unusually resistant. I woke up partway through the operation, belly open, in the worst agony of my life (at least I wasn't having a caesarean). I could feel everything, but there was enough anaesthetic in my system to still prevent me from moving plus I had an oxygen mask over my face so I couldn't make noise. All I could do was blink and glare extremely hard at the surgeons in the hope of catching one of their eyes. It felt like an eternity but was probably more like a minute and a half to two minutes; eventually I heard a voice shout out "Oh FUCK! He's awake!!!", and there was a scramble to put me back under. That took another couple of minutes.

The story of my injury was deemed interesting enough to make the national press, and DJs Mark and Lard on BBC Radio 1 even had a chat about my incident. I think I may still have a recording of it on C90 somewhere. Alas, the show was cancelled...

  • @Matt_Aranha You are also some kind of musican right ? or did i see it wrong yet ?

That's gross neglect where did you go to get treated? Also sucks must have been hell

  • @Littlelion12 I've dislocated my right knee there times in my life... Everytime has been like getting hit by an electrified jack hammer in the knee... Nowdays if a try to climb a ladder or get up on the sidewalk with my right knee first and not carefully enough, it doesn't do its job properly and I fall. So. Yeah... That's probably the worst pain I've ever experienced. I also fell down a flight of concrete stairs once. A big one... Not sure how I didn't break a bone. Ended up with a bleeding nose and a sore back. I was 8. I remember thinking I was about to meet the maker.

Holy crap it sounds like you need knee surgery X_x Those sound so brutal

  • @Hyde No... I used to DJ though, might that be what you're thinking?

  • @Littlelion12 oh yeah, I probably need... But I am saving it for when I can't bear to work anymore so I get a leave. I will probably need to use walking cane soon as well. Looking forward to making one myself, full of meaning and Easter eggs.

  • @Littlelion12 It was unbelievable. Beats anything else I've ever been through, emotional, spiritual or physical. We went to the A+E department at my local hospital... they put me back under my sticking the anaesthetic needle into my SHOULDER which I've never heard of before or since; it swelled up and I had a huge sore/tender lump for a couple of months afterwards! I considered taking some kind of action for that but not the initial waking up. I decided against it, I was alright after recovery and had things to do in my life which I considered more important.

  • @Thales_BG Oh gosh.... Do you think there's any way to strengthen your quads so your knee gets stronger? I hope you get to fix it soon that's no bueno father Alex

  • I was running around the house and slipped, smashing my head into the corner of a wall. I didn't feel anything at first just a feeling of something warm trickling down my neck and face. It started hurting like a bitch once i realized what happened.

Another one is when i get bit by a centipede, that was the worst pain i can imagine, like someone set my foot on fire, i don't remember much of it because i was around 5 or 6
