• GIMME some of the memories from your mind -- but you can't decide if it really happened or it was just a DREAM.

Example: recently, a 'Sleeper' song came on the radio, and I thought, 'Back in the 90's, I had a signed photo of Louise Wener'.

Or ...did I? It's a very strong, elaborate memory, and yet ...where did it come from? CAN'T REMEMBER. Where did I keep it? CAN'T REMEMBER. What was the pose Wener was doing in the photo? CAN'T REMEMBER. Where is it now? DUNNO.

Seems very likely it was just a dream. :man_astronaut_medium_skin_tone:

  • @Indrid-Cold
i've had that happen to me before! i once had a dream where i spoke with an old high school friend of mine, and she mentioned having a dog. i was 100% convinced that it wasn't a dream though, that we actually had a chat irl.

so, when i met up with her a couple of years later, i asked how her doggie was doing. she was like "what? i don't have any pets". it was pretty frigging awkward

  • @sarah_the_magpie So I didn't make you rage quit this site, how disappointing...

  • @Indrid-Cold I had a dream once where I wanted to urinate in the toilet but it wasn't coming out, when I woke up from that scary nightmare, I smiled and was happy it didn't come out and walked to the toilet to let it out, probably the best and the worst nightmare I ever had.

  • A dream? Well most of my dreams are about reality. I mean most of my dreams just connect to the reality.
I dont like to say this but i know another things would happen just because of my dream.

  • I have such a bad memory, that I don't even remember those

But a friend of mine once dreamed to have gone through long corridors and corridors and searching and searching then finally found a toilet and peed there. Turns out he actually peed into a flower pot :joy:

  • @Addicted4life between your and @pe7erpark3r, weeing seems to be a motif here. We humans are so in debt to the way we whizz at JUST THE RIGHT subtle mental command and no other. I think Darwin DESERVES to be on the £10 (and not Shakin Stevens as I've sometimes said).

  • @sarah_the_magpie I'm glad you've found a new home here on TWS, where yr virtual friends are actually IMPRESSED by crazy talk of alternate realities.

  • @Indrid-Cold I think this may qualify as what you asked about: Many years ago I had to have some surgery. I was given shots, and an IV I'm guessing full of various sedatives to "relax" me before the surgery. On my back, on a gurney outside the Operating Room, waiting to go in. After wheeling me in to the O.R. I was given more anesthetic, to knock me out. I was told to count from 10 backwards. I don't recall if I made it to 1, but I have this hazy memory of being on the gurney, and a very bright light shining on me, and two medical staff with masks on and blue gowns, standing near me, looking down at me. One of them asked if he should start, and another answered to go ahead, as I was out cold. I wanted to SCREAM that I wasn't all the way under, but couldn't move, or even mumble. I closed mt eyes, and the next I knew I was groggy, but waking up in the Post Op area. To this day I have no idea if I really wasn't all the way under, and heard the surgeons talking, or not. It SEEMED real, hazy, but authentic, yet unverified.

  • God almighty @Lazz. You'd hope it's just yr mind filling in the blanks, isn't it? My two experiences of being anaestheathised (sic) have always been good as gold like flick switching. You always expect a minutes-long struggle like Stallone dropping that woman in 'Cliffhanger', but then it's just like (nothing)

  • @Lazz said in DID THAT REALLY HAPPEN ...or was it just a dream?:
I wanted to SCREAM that I wasn't all the way under, but couldn't move, or even mumble.

If you were awake you are lucky you did go out in the end after all... There are people who actually don't go out. They then feel everything of the freaking operation. They are immune to some effects of the aneasthetics, they cannot move like you, but they are wide awake!

  • @pe7erpark3r >_> oh my... that is truly terrifying...

  • @Indrid-Cold I bullied her so bad, made her hide her nose in the new picture, I feel bad now, lol.
Her fault tho, don't pick on someone advanced in the art of roasting, heuheuheuheuheu.

  • @Indrid-Cold I agree, such a blessing deserves attention, however, there are kids who wake up with a warm bath in the morning before even entering the toilet, poor souls did not have this blessing.

  • @sarah_the_magpie Worry not you can make up with crooked nose by doing 100 sumo squats daily, you can thank me by showing me the results preferably in yoga jeans, thank you.

  • @sarah_the_magpie do it for a month then show me, I don't want to see a girl with skinny men legs, that will traumatise, thank you.

  • @Addicted4life
lmao why tf are you still replying to me?? did i really hurt your feelings that bad? :D:D ffs get over it, i honestly don't feel like waking up every day to get 3 love letters from you on tws lmao
