• @DIV

Teach me the ways of Absurdity please, I'd love to stop looking for meaning and start being happy in my absurdity :joy:

  • @DIV I've always pictured life as chance. We are given this gift to live and grow, not everyone gets that chance. As far as we know, we only get this one chance to do what we want and to make life our own. I think the purpose in life is one that you apply yourself, it is whatever you want to get out of life. My purpose is to make my life as peaceful and worth it as possible. You can make yours whatever you want it, because life is what you make it.

  • Camus comes to help people get over the fact that Nihilism is pretty brutal, especially to modern people. as we come to understand more and more about our nature, it becomes clearer that we were not supposed to live the way we do, and this knowledge is enough to send some people to the ground. Camus is a breath of fresh air to those staring into the abyss. And your post about the Absurdity is pretty fucking good Div. Congrats!

Only if I was a good preacher
But you confuse this, with some kind of religion.
You dont need to learn, "how to live". You already know it.
All you need to do, is accept, that life is absurd. That, most of the times, it doesnt make sense. And with acceptance, will come happiness, whatever happiness means.
Stop fighting the battles which you cant win. Just accept your defeat, and move on with a smile

    Yeah, that's my problem :joy:
I hate defeat and I'm too stubborn to ever give up hahahaha

  • @DIV I think peace is an abstract term, just as love or happiness, we all have different definitions of it. Yes, as “choatic” as life may seem, it’s only chaotic because you allowed it to be that way. My life may as well be very similar to yours but what you consider choas, I consider peace.

Well, one must think, that life is full of chaos, first. To make it peaceful.
Life is inherently the most serene and easy going thing you can have. All you have to do is, breathe, eat, shit, repeat.
It's the human aspect which complicates things.
You want your life to be peaceful. But is ask you, what is peace? (read the poem, keeping quiet by Pablo Neruda, for more insight on this)
And best of luck if you've found your purpose my friend. You are amongst the lucky few now. To make living worth IT, whatever that "IT" may mean.

    IT? You mean computers? :joy:
