• Do you think Beauty is based on personal opinions (Subjective) or is it based on society’s opinions (Objective)?

  • Gamers

Personal aka Subjective, because we have different views..

  • @ᑕᖇiᗰᔕ-ᑎ Objective, no matter how much people lie to you and how much you pretend like you don't care that's the truth and everyone knows it. Human beings are social animals, we experience things by sharing them with others. When you go on a trip and something amazing happens I'm sure the first thing that you do is tell others about it. This way you get to re-live that experience and only then are you really satisfied. Society precedes the individual.

  • Merriam Webster dictionary defines 'Beauty' as qualities in a person or a thing that give a sense of pleasure to the senses or the mind. So beauty is not something that is person specific or gender specific. If someone says something is beautiful then it is because that thing or person makes him or her happy and gives a positive vibe. Yes what makes someone happy may vary from person to person. So beauty is subjective.

As it is said also- “Beauty lies in eyes of beholder”

People find things to be beautiful because they have some connection to it. They have some memory attached to it, something had happened with that thing which made them happy in the first place and that's what makes things beautiful for someone in the first place.

Kids like Max no matter how misogynistic will still be beautiful to his mother while a guy whose cat died on a slightly rainy day under a beautiful rainbow will always find that rainbow to be depressing.

While concluding: Every persons perception differs from another so something that is beautiful to me will not necessarily be beautiful to someone else.

  • @ᑕᖇiᗰᔕ-ᑎ SUBJECTIVE, no doubt about it. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and they may be right according to them, according to whats going on their mind and how they perceive things. There are so many examples where lets say, many people find someone beautiful, but for me, just the thought of that person, disgusts me. And its true vice versa as well. I may find something/someone beautiful and someone might not.
So, yeah it is totally subjective.

  • @ᑕᖇiᗰᔕ-ᑎ it has to be on personal preference, but it's mostly social status. So with time the marriage comes to an end. But if it's on personal preference from both ends, the couple grows together. Love you all

  • It's both. It highly depends on what the person themself likes, but what they like is also noticably influenced by their culture and society.

  • @ᑕᖇiᗰᔕ-ᑎ both in my opinion objective influence more

  • Greek? lol hahahah yeah i see the conundrum here...well, the simplest answer is that its subjective no matter how as you would claim the socially accepted notions and aspects form our opinions. It cant be objective because everyone has uniquely shaped aesthetic preferences that appeal to their idea of "beauty". i guess i think so. and society might mold us to some ideals and beliefs that are objective, beauty does not belong there. wouldnt you say? And also beauty has many aspects, as in natural pfhysical beauty, and nontangible beauty of the individual character of self. complicated lol
