When you carry me
-
Alright I my last poem was dark and I have an idea for a new one that is brighter but kinda fits the last one.
I stand beaten and bruised
Bloody but unbowed
And you tell me
To just let it go
That I don’t have to
Try and carry the world alone
That you’ll carry half of the pain
Half the weight
That I can put my armor down
That it’s ok
Even Heroes fall and need to be caughtThat’s when I feel
Your arms around me
And I know that I’m safe
That I can let go
That I’m not alone
And I close my eyes
And I drift away
Letting all my pain show
Letting you see all my scars
And that’s when I know
I never fell
You just picked me up so I could rest -

@Wicked_ Brightness always follows the dark Isn't that the way of things?
The last struck an exposed nerve. This one suggests a sigh of relief. Each, in its own way very emotive. The imagery is brutal, and kind, and sharp, and vulnerable. Thoughts on joining the last two into a single one?
