How are you going to explain something to someone who is close-minded ?
-
Let me know :)
-
@cjko Technically you can’t ‘make’ anyone look beyond their narrow-minded perspective.
But you can make it really uncomfortable for them to stay there.
All you have to do is take an even more narrow-minded perspective than they have exhibited, on the same topic, and emphasize your even more extreme beliefs that accompany it.
-
@cjko That’s a loaded question. It depends on your perspective. Upbringing has a lot to do with how people think and what they believe. Life experiences also color how we interact with others, and what we believe and think. . Even when faced with people that AREN’T like that, they still believe what they do, thinking that those people are the exception, and not the rule.

Like @STRANGER says about changing the thoughts of a narrow minded person.
It is possible to express all the sides/views to them and give them further information concerning the topic in hand. While doing this your would get positive affirmation that they understand and get each point before you move on to the next.
Just by this process alone you can get people to see the error of their thinking, even if they do stick to it. This would often lead to them reevaluating how they think at a latter date ;) -
@cjko USE SMALL WORDS AND SPEAK LOUD
BUT CLEARLY... no? Well, worth a shot... -
@sᴛʀᴀɴɢᴇʀ hahahahha well thought. :)
How are you going to manage it to avoid that person to get embarrassed? -
@sᴛʀᴀɴɢᴇʀ true..
-
@valve hahahaha .... Yea ... been there, tried that ... :D

I am not really gonna waste my time explaining things to a person who doesn't WANT to understand, or atleast listen to somebody's opinion. Experience is the best teacher. Let time use the hard way to make him/her open up his/her mind.
EDIT- SORRY FOR THE TYPOS!
-
@cjko seriously though, it depends how deep they have buried their will to learn and/or if you can give the tools to help them figure things out by themself, there is hope.
-
Pretty simple you can try but just left them figure it out on their own I need to waste we are time... Just saying
-
@valve hahahaha sounds harsh :)
-
@valve hmm true. Yeah, help them to refresh their perspective. :)

@blue_nebula hahahah you got a point. But you can do things that help them not to be like that. :) You help them experience things ,for them to learn.
Lol, but i don't want to chase my own tail.

@gclover12-gclover12 hmm ok. thank you for sharing your idea about that :)
