I filmed it after putting the finishing touches on the blood and fire. You can hear my Professor talking to one of the senior students about her latest project in the background.

Any artists start by drawing based on reference photos and drawings. I wouldn't feel bad about it. I think the main difference is when you're merely using it as a guide (because you like the style or other elements) and claiming as your own original piece. If you need someone to talk to about it, I'm all ears.

You worked hard on the background, that's great! But there's so much matter, and it doesn't help to see the plant in the foreground. Maybe you should look another brush size, or a better color contrast. Unless you were looking for a confusing bottom/figure effect..! Keep it up!! ^^
