why do many people use the word "gay" to insult someone? this usually sounds sarcastic and dismissive

  • I use the word gay to call things that are boring to me- things of my dislike, never to insult anybody.. I can see how this can be contradictory to some but frankly, I don't care. I will not censor myself simply because some are easily offended..

be gay, be straight.. it doesn't affect me so it really is none of my business..

my best friend is a lesbo.. I call her homo, she calls me faggot.. ♡

  • @NightNymph that is a great quote.

  • I use gay as an insult when I think an insult is appropriate. Like when a gay calls me homphobic because I'm not gay. Like someone calling me racist because they represent their ethnicity so poorly that they meet stereotypes..

  • Are you gay?

  • I guess that question is addressed to me so I will reply. because I'm not gay was meant to answer the question: "Are you gay."

  • @Don-Rose It was not. But

    I am gay.

    Seriously.

For my favourite 2D traps. I am gay!

  • @FangYuan
And all the straights in the world isn't going to change that. Why should it?

  • LOVE LOUD!

  • Do you prefer if everyone you meet state their sexual preference upon meeting?

  • Nope I don't like people coming at me like

    "Hi M20"

    or

    "Hai! F20"

  • I meant in real life. Should everyone be proud of their sexual preference and make it known to all? Or does being gay give you more right to your sexcual preference? I hope no offewse. I'm really just asking.

  • If you never talked to a girl before and you are gay and you are 20 or less then I would say you are a pussy cat. I MEAN LIKE DAMN WHY SETTLE. But I do respect gay people like they are not scared about love. But only if they are 20 plus. You should make it known depending on your situation. Being gays don't make you less or more of an human being.

  • I guess that , also, is not meant for me so I'll wait for further to explain what you are saying.

  • People should be proud of their sexual preferences if they are mature enough!

  • But making it know to all is different.... It's sad to see humans not accepting other humans.

  • @FangYuan
I guess I don't understand again. Proud of your sexual preference? Sounds like you made a choice to be gay just for the colorful flags. I said flags. Should people be proud to be heterosexual as their choice?
I don't mean to be offensive. I think people should be accepting of any choice or lifestyle that cause them no direct harm. Sex causes very few people harm. Maybe the lack of is a little problem. Then again, maybe the little problem is the whole problem.
I'm sorry. I just think it all gets better when everyone just lives with it, live and let live, without being made to think one way or the other.

  • I think I'm trying to say people should simply be accepting of their own. Being proud seems to say you need some validation. Surely, if someone asks you should be able to stand proud and state your answer without fear of it being the wrong answer. If I go in a gay bar, for example, should I be shy to admit sex with women is what turns me on because the crowd is not with me or just give my honest answer and know I won't be getting a lot of requests for my phone number? Hey, who let me in this gay bar, anyway?
