@wtfjudith Yeah ,the practical effects of that time usually look a lot scarier than many of todays CGI.
The thing (1982) has more personality & atmosphere due to practical effects than the 2011 remake. -
@evan-elderson that scene was in A Haunted House and while it wasn't scary that scene made my Christian mom walk out in absolute horror

I still need to watch 'IT'.
Might be the only horror movie I'm actually interested in atm, because it's not just a horror. There's actually some depth and story to it. Seems like a 'coming of age' type-thing.
I can't wait for the second one, we'll see the kids as adults.
