You've got to go for it and find out for both of your sakes. If you're attracted to him and holding back out of fear of what you might lose, I promise you will regret not taking the chance later in life. And if you don't hold back then one of either two things will happen - it will work out and you will become closer, stronger, and happier, or it won't. If it doesn't and it affects your friendship, then your friendship isn't as strong as you think to begin with... but if you are good, true, kind people who care for one another, then even a separation won't break your friendship up.

@Apricot Yeah, @Scottish is right, sometimes people come where there is a good reason and sometimes you just need to let go. Most recently I had a friend from here who I'd been chatting with for 3-4 months, I thought we were close as we didn't just message but used to video call a few times a week and had even added each other on other social media. Then almost three weeks ago I woke one morning to find a string of panicked scared-sounding messages from them. They have completely vanished since; social media deleted and not logged on here after that morning. I spent considerable time being anxious for their wellbeing but there is nothing I can do about it š¤·āāļø
I had a break from here myself for a little while recently, and many other people I care about and respect have done the same. Try not to overthink, and keep faith that things will wind up however they are meant to.
