@barryneedsome what do they do now?
-
Complain on Facebook
-
@barryneedsome very true. But they are being heard. Face to face communication is very important.
-
@leelah fair point
-
@barryneedsome Facebook has connected the entire world. Almost every country has people using it.
-
@leelah true, I don't use it at all
-
I had to delete mine because I used it too much
-
Yes! A place where there is no garbage or dust or crime!
-
No, not really. Objectively this is the best time to live in so far. I mean there might be a better future, but who could say?
Here is why:
- Health care was never as good as today, globally, for the rich just as for the poor
- 100 years ago 90% of human population lived off 1 $ (in today's dollars) per day. Today, even though our riches are not distributed fairly, the whole populus still is richer then ever before
- 200 years ago, when you were born a farmer, you'd die a farmer (or in a mental asylum)
- We have anesthetics and pain killers
- 100 years ago only 5% of human population (or less) had a proper education, today around 80% at least have access and its getteng better
- in india practically no child dies of hunger today. We'll win the fight against hunger soon enough.
- one can really profit from the diversities of culture thanks to our global communication. I could also lose my head and time totally on facebook, but I'm not doing that so...
- in the west you have free personal choice of what you believe in, what you want to do for a living, what you want to eat. however many politicians are trying to take that away from us, so the future is looking bleaker and bleaker
- in the west we have free speech, which means that even the minorities can speak up and have a voice
So yeah, best time so far.
-
No I'll leave that literal plague, in the past where it belongs.
