@davitchen my page count has decrease now. it 5-6 now. but I don't regrate it. coz the book I am reading I very interesting. I take time to read and analyze / imagine what I have read. it's a fun activity if you choose a category you like.
Who else like books???
-
@Kanuna same hereππ
-
Still life with woodpecker and even cowgirls get the blues. Both are Tom Robbins books.
The hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy.
And many many others -
@sky1234 I've always been an avid reader. Sadly, I don't think I own even ONE actual book, now. I have a large collection of Ebooks, though. Technology is great, but it's not the same as holding an actual book, and turning real pages.
-
Reading is fun
-
@sky1234
yup, used to read a lot of books in my teens. i still read from time to time, but not as much anymore. the last book i read was "the picture of dorian gray", i think -
@Lazz nothing beats a real book lazz. Except when you are lying in bed with a huge epic that you've nearly finished and you have breeze block in one hand and a wafer in the other, that's awkward!
-
@wet-teri great books but my favourite tom robbins has to be jitterbug perfume, have you read it?
-
@sky1234 books are massively important to me, they can give people a run for their money. I am always suspicious of people with no books in their homes which seems to mean most people
-
I am addicted to reading. We have little book houses all over town.. They look like bird houses but they're filled with books there free and you can swap books in and out it's called the give a book take a book program it's really great because you can just drop the books off you're done with and pick up a few new ones and it's free and it's switches all the time and they're like 30 of them in my area so you can basically walk the dog and pick up a new book anytime you want it's really great. Walk the dog pick up a new book take it down to the water it's not a bad day when you got a new book. Reading is my means of Escape has been since I was a kid I love to read anything so favourite book I don't even think I could pick one
-
@sky1234 well that's nice your not far from me! If Scottish came to visit he could kill two birds with one stone π
-

-

-
Iam an avid reader , so far John green is my favourite novelist
-
@cant-breathe no that I know off..
-
I love books
-
OK. I've got a sub-question for everyone (but I can't be bothered to post it as a fresh topic) --
In your house, what's the ratio of books versus DVDs / Blu-Rays?
Me, in my gaff, I think it's about 65% books, 35% DVDs. And I'm not even counting Graphic Novels or comics as books.
-
@Indrid-Cold hey indrid, bill hicks, yes! My all time hero, he is my jesus! I love that sketch in the diner where he's reading lol
-
@Scottish said in Who else like books???:
@wet-teri great books but my favourite tom robbins has to be jitterbug perfume, have you read it?
No I have not read that one but thank you the suggestion I will see if I cannot find that particular text.
I also failed to mention some of the great American classics like Faulkner
-
I m reading everyday. Two or three books at once. I read ΠΎne book in English and one or two in my native language. Reading calms me down. I can't live without reading. If I stop reading, I may explode.
-
@Indrid-Cold tbh I have more DVDs than books because I mostly read online....but they don't give the joy of paper books..their smell and they carry with them more human touch...
