@spacegirl haven't you read the other choices?

@petrapark3r well, that's your philosophical views about this topic and I agree to disagree.We are different , we have diverse cultures, belief, upbringing and opinions. Thanks for sharing your choices though
I didn't say it was impossible... But tell me, do you have any experience supporting your view? Have you been together with someone with whom you were not physically compatible (who's smell you didn't like) ?

Nope. I haven't.. but having different emotional and intellectual compatibility make the rs impossible to withstand. Didn't meet halfway, one is always one leap downward to the other.

@cjko I read all of them. And I come to the conclusion that all of we are confused in words trying to talk about the same thing.
Yeah, maybe we have to define em. So how about the following proposal:
- physical chemistry: yes = you like each other's smell, no = you hate each other's smell
- lifestyle compatibility: yes = you're rich, she's rich, you like tennis, she likes tennis
- emotional compatibility: yes = you understand each other emotionally, or at least your feelings somehow align, no = you don't get the other's emotion
- intellectual compatiblity: yes = you understand each other on an intellectual level, you share insights and maybe viewpoints, no = you don't properly understand each other on an intellectual level, it is hard to share your insights with the other

In germany we say "to be able to smell each other well".
"Du riechst so gut" ? :relaxed:
That is a correct german phrase that translates to: "You smell so good" :)

Nope. I haven't.. but having different emotional and intellectual compatibility make the rs impossible to withstand. Didn't meet halfway, one is always one leap downward to the other.
What is "rs"?
I think if you have emotional compatibility you'll get over that. If you don't rub it into the other one's nose that you're smarter.
Also I believe that especially in our times, the competition between the genders is greatly exaggerated and many relationships fail because the woman wants her man to be stronger than her, but at the same time she needs to prove that she's just as strong in every way.
But you are right, honestly, I think you actually should have three of those, e.g. physical chemistry, emotional & intellectual compatibility. Intellectual compatibility does not have to mean you have to have the same IQ, it means that you get each other, that's good enough for me.
-
-
@cjko Argh, well as a reflex I went straight for emotional and intellectual compatibility. If you're strong and respectful enough of each other you can happily enjoy different lifestyles, I've never placed much of a value on that and find myself happier in the company of someone who mutually empathises with and understands me. I questioned that a little when I read the other responses and totally relate to the scent thing, that is important to me too and can be very bonding with a partner, but for me whilst physical attraction can be a doorway that compatibility is also something which can be built upon. I find the others are more innate.

Rs- relationship.
Atlast you got my point. The topic only needs 2. So, those 2 were top on list. -
@spacegirl spiritual compatibility and what? Why?
-
@Matt_Aranha yeah, that's true. Thanks for sharing your views.

Atlast you got my point. The topic only needs 2. So, those 2 were top on list.The top 2 on your list, and I can respect that. I still think chemistry and emotional compatibility are more important, because of what they mean:
- chemistry: you are made for each other, you fit together (it's a sign)
- emotional: you get what's really important about the other, their heart
I think if you really love each other, you can live without really understanding each other intellectually. In fact we will never truly understand the other, so this is part of every relationship, this is part of what love is: to be with someone who's not like you, and sacrifice (compromise) for them, so that you can be together. Must be mutual.
-
@petrapark3r agreed.

-
@spacegirl thanks
-
@cjko To me it is lifestyle compatibility and emotional compatibility.I have chosen lifestyle compatibility because i think if my partner belongs to same ethnicity,culture,religion and social status we will be able to cooperate and understand each other better becoz our way of thinking will like to be same and we will be also physically compatible.Secondly i have chosen emotional compatibility becoz if our way of thinking and emotions towards each other matches we will be able to take decisions in life together without any mental clashes.

@cjko Because some things, can not be understood by our minds. Irrational and illogical, but at the same time, so deeply involved in humans relationships. Maybe not spiritual, maybe psychological. Try to choose any word, all of them will be wrong.
Yeah, I too feel there might be something like spiritual compatibility. I think it's a thing.
Psychological might more be on the emotional / intellectual side.
