Why did you have to contemplate? It doesn't concern you. Your friends have to decide whether you are or not. You can be the best of yourself and still fail to win over someone. People have their own bias for judging others. There's no universal "good friend type". Just be you and be nice to everyone. Rest is up to them. Don't worry about something that's not up to you in the first place.

@wtfjudith I think I am. To me, loyalty is the highest compliment you can pay anyone when you're friends with them. And my experiences in life so far show me that I'm quite loyal to those I value. Loyalty here includes keeping one's word, reliability, going to extreme lengths to save someone else's neck, take the blame for someone else's wrong doing, having their back when they need it and most important of all - valuing the trust they have in me and vice versa.
