The storms of honesty

[US poet]

As the sky begins to cry outside,
and yells with it's crackling whips,
and flashes of terror,
I've begun to open up to you,
and let you know everything about me.
I'm hoping it doesn't scare you,
like sudden bursts of crackling honesty can,
but you deserve the truth,
and I've fallen for you,
as the rain does,
but I'm hoping to be your new cover,
to shelter you out of the storm.
It requires complete openness,
to make the clouds part,
and the sky can begin to shine,
but sometimes that means we have to sit through a few strikes,
to make sure what we're doing is right.
If this rendezvous,
continues to go through,
the way it's meant to,
the stratosphere will clear,
and part its ways to a celestial sea,
shooting out its prism of color,
that rainbow of brilliance,
that has shown us the clearest of paths,
that points me to you.
