Okay anything that was ever broadcast on television or on the radio, you know what I mean over the airwaves in frequency waves. Those waves are still out there traveling through space. All of them. This includes the alien war movies from the 50s and 60s where the aliens attack Earth and we blow them to bits and pieces.

We also search for intelligent life in space.
now that it is my opinion that if there is intelligent life out there (and I think there is) why on Earth would they want to befriend a race of people that still kill each other but above and beyond that what if they have seen the movies? What if the airways hit a planet and they decide that we are going to wage war against them and try to eliminate them? That would be my luck something I did as a child in a joke would come back to haunt me as an adult. Imagine a race of aliens that think we're out to get them so they're going to eliminate us first poof! adios we're gone.

@SweetMark88 If beings are smart across to travel untold distances, I think the meeting will be the other way around (technologically speaking) where we will be similar to the native inhabitants.
Perhaps we won't even know - like "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy."
