What do you honestly think of Africa and/or Africans?
-
Hi 👀👉🏽👈🏽
This may seem weird and out of nowhere but it occurred to me that people don't actually know much about us here in Africa. So I'd like to know what most of you genuinely think. Thank you 💕 -
@Scarlett-Chalumbila for me it's a stunning continent full of wonder, loved the place for over 40 years since watching old Tarzan movies as a small boy. Only been to Morocco but I've watched literally hundreds of documentaries about Africa, mostly nature. Seems the same as everywhere else, loads of brilliant culture and lovely people but plenty of corrupt goverments too. I admire that President (can't remember which country) who hitches a ride when he needs to go somewhere, says if his people can't have cars then neither shall he, what a hero, the world needs more politicians like him

@Scottish Thank you for speaking your truth
-
@kevinkim you're welcome bro 😊
-
@Scarlett-Chalumbila What little I know mainly comes from what's shown on local TV. Such diversity! From bush people/tribes to modern day cities. So much LAND and so many animals. Beautiful beaches and waters.

As an Egyptian, I consider myself, but I've never been to any other country in Africa, so I don't know.
Now as a secondary question, as an African, do you consider Egyptians and North Africans to be African as well, or not?
-
@Scarlett-Chalumbila
I like ur pfp -
@Scarlett-Chalumbila
i've never been to africa, but i've seen a lot of documentaries and read a lot about it. beautiful landscapes, wonderful cultures and great music :D i feel like africa as a whole has a lot of potential to develop into something truly amazingalso, i think that pre-colonial african history is absolutely fascinating, and should be spoken about more. things like the yoruban city-states, ancient egypt and the medieval empires of mali & ethiopia were a lot of fun to learn about
-
@sarah_the_magpie the zulu nation is a favourite of mine too Sarah and i love the massai culture, those guys are badass, I've seen footage of them strolling towards prides of lions and the lions freak out and run away, nerves of steel
-
@Scarlett-Chalumbila Well I got thrown out of Egypt for sticking up for women's rights, went there for a workshop and ended up being sidetracked by the way most men seem to treat their own women, So got caught up in their rights movement at the time other than that had a great time if you don't mind the leering men and backhanded comments. Would love to get to see the central parts of the continent but so far the only long term plans is to see South Africa

@Scarlett-Chalumbila You're welcome Scarlett, thanks for posting a nice topic 😊
-
@Ladydoall30 Yes it seems like some countries in Africa seem to have this mentality that talking down to women is okay. If I was at that protest I probably would have been kicked out too lol. Anyway thank you for sharing this with me! I highly appreciate it 💕🙏🏽
-
Where are u from, because i dont think we can talk about continent like a country. The african culture is too rich! :)
-
@Kim-jong-un33 thanks! 😊Any chance you want to comment on this topic though? 👀😂

@VCA I'm from Botswana and yes you're right, Africa is a continent but doesn't seem to be considered like one. Which is one of the reasons I posted this.
