Do You Listen to Music for the Lyrics or the Tune?

Lyrics or Tune? 🤔
Or both?I personally listen to music because of the tune mostly, because when the tune is nice your focus shifts from the lyrics. Lyrics matter to me too, so both.
What’s your reason?
I listen to music thats tune is great. I never give attention to lyrics or music artist. Sometimes, I listen even break-up songs like attention, silence etc 😂. I like hip-hop, rap and electro music.
-
Good catchy tunes are enjoyed temporarily and I stop listening to them after a while. But the lyrics seem to stay forever as they bring out emotions
That’s so true!
PS - At the same time, I love classical music lol.
Ooh you have quite a distinct taste in music, nice.

A thai woman runs into a wall, what does he break?
Her boner -
@Lurker I'll seek em out tomorrow, currently got Korn's 13th album on (yay for leaks) then I'll plays tools disk then it's rage time but I will check them, thanks
Also I don't get difference between rap n hip-hop but I'm not one of thoese ppl who sub classifys every band till each band has its own unique style.But maybe you can help me with 1 thing, how the hell is RNB rythem n blues? In the 60s RNB was a style now seems everything fits the bill. It's got me fucked what makes RNB RNB lol
-
I believe RnB was the genre that evolved the most with time, I believe it started as something that fell in a lackluster of use and become what RnB is which is like a mix between pop and the old RnB. It's so fluid that you can even dance to it cuz it has a bits and hits of every genre.
-
@Lurker https://www.billboard.com/charts/r-and-b-songs some group but there's a couple odd ones
-
See how there's so many genres in that top? :p It's literally one of each genres there, there's pop, hip-hop and others xD
-
@Lurker yeah it's just random lol
-
The lyrics obviously is the dominant factor for any kinda music..most people find solace in music due to the relatable or soothing lyrics, so do I. I mean obviously the song has to have a catchy and show stopper tune but what sums up the whole song is the lyrics, the amount of emotional details it adds to the song is remarkable. If music were a person then the lyrics would definitely be its soul!

@Anastasia-Smith like Gangnam style 🤘
-
@Butterscotch both sometime lyrics
-
For me they are the same thing, I think if you listened to a foreign song and you had thought that you would never like this. And mostly the reason will be their accent
-
@INSANE-INSIDE KPOP?!!
-
@hey1231 I used to work for Asians and my boss liked traditional Malaysian songs, lyrics are Important 😂
When I was in primary school I did Chinese, ever heard old Mac Donald in Mandarin? It's gotta be somewhere online, recommended 👍 -

@INSANE-INSIDE KPOP?!!
Oh my fucking god no lmfao it's 100% wtf
Heard the band baby metal , my poor soul 😖 -
-
@Anastasia-Smith I used to check out a show on SBS weekly with K-pop, I still spun out.
Seen a cool doco about girls being trained to become K-pop stars, many Japanese girls go and try. They go nuts perfecting everything -
@INSANE-INSIDE true dat! But nevertheless I'm a sucker for korean songs.
-
@Anastasia-Smith speak any? Because, and I'm not being racist, the pitch of the accents a bit stabby lol, I seen a porno with a Korean girl in it and all I could think was I hope they don't really make that noise 😂
If you never seen babymetal you might dig it, the style clash is a bit much for me, but since the vocal style is ok with you have a go
(I really should add even though I don't enjoy the music I love the idea, nit in a million years would I have been sitting with my guitar and thought "that it, I need Asians!" I give them props for originality
-
@INSANE-INSIDE umm a few words..my Korean knowledge is limited...
