Come on now, lets be real. Social media suckssaasss. It just ain't that great. There's fake news, trolls, sensitive liberals, disconnection from reality, bUT YET WE STILL STAY. I DONT REALLY LIKE IT BUT I ALSO DONT PLAN ON LEAVING. I'm sure I'm not the only person who shares this point of view, so please, enlighten me.
Why do we like social media?
Is it the drama?

I personally don’t like social media. But majority of the people do. I believe we are social animals....so if we aren’t social, we’re just animals. No person likes to be lonely, hence, by being on social media they get a platform to connect to people.
Also, modern people have the urge to show off and keep their view. The social media provides us the platform to do so. And as the unhorney man said.. Its a drug. And its hard to get your drug addiction removed. -

We like anything and everything that gives us a high, and the social media my friend, is the new drug.
what I mean by high, is the constant hit of dopamine you get, on hearing that ting sound on your phone. The anticipation, of what the replies to your topics would be like, the curiosity to see, what that red mark over your dm's have for you.
The social media serves as a constant positive feedback loop which is highly addictive.Ask a heroine addict, if they like heroine.

I understand the joyful feeling of getting likes and attention, but there are also lurkers. Even people that stay on the side likes and don't get any attention at all still come and...I don't know... watch? where is fun and dopamine in that?

Technically speaking, I’m not on social media per se. I am on business/student connecting platforms which sorta serve the same purpose except the fact thst the conveyed communication is strictly professional.
And you’re referring to TWS as social media, think again. But I feel the need, the need for speed (speed of communication). -
