• Disclaimer: I do NOT own the character Finnick Odair I just wrote his story which wasn’t stated in the actual hunger games books. Let me know what y’all think

Ever since I was little I grew up in district four. My parents died when I was young, I don't remember much about them. After my parents died, I was taken in by Mags who had won the hunger games of her day. She taught me how to swim and throw spears to catch fish, which came in handy in my own hunger games in a few years. As I was growing up I began to notice more and more poverty in my district. Many people would go hungry during the harsh winters we had in the district. But I was one of the few lucky people who would have food during the winter because of the help of Mags and my parents earnings we got by.
As I got closer to the age of being able to be picked to be a tribute in the arena, Mags would tell me stories about her own time in the arena.
Oh how I would pester her for more details about her time in the games but she would say, “ Oh Finnick I will not frighten you with my time in the games. You will understand the horrors of my games as you get older Finnick.”
And I did understand after my own time in the games.
After I had turned fourteen me and my friends, One that was Annie Cresta a girl with red hair and blue eyes she was one of my closest friends. We all used to joke about if one of us did get picked for the arena who would win out of me and my friends little did I know that those little jokes would soon become real and I’d have to face what every kid and parent in Panem fears.
Mags stopped talking after I had turned fourteen. About a week later it was time to have that capital lady with the feathered dresses with jems, other expensive exotic things, and brightly colored hair to choose a female and male tribute from our district. Me and Mags got our best clothes on, me with an old suit my father had and Mags had a long sea blue dress she had said once was her daughters who had passed away. I had to quickly give Mags a hug before I was herded to where the other fourteen through eighteen year old boys were together penned in by a red rope fence and peacekeepers all around with guns aimed at us and the anxious parents. The peacekeepers seemed to notice the uneasiness of the crowd. On the stage there was two big glass bowls with the names of every kid over the age of twelve through eighteen in district four.
The capital lady as usual said brightly, “Ladies first!!”.
She clawed around the names for a while until she nagged one and happily opened the card and singsonged said the name of the female tribute, “ Ever Lightwood please make your way to the stage!”
The capital lady smiled brightly as Ever walked up the stage looking almost pleased to be picked. She was a tall slim girl with light brown eyes almost yellow and long brown hair neatly put up in a bun. She seemed fit and strong and ready to fight. I noticed her look back where the parents were holding that rope that separates them from their kids and her smirk turned into a frown as she seemed not to see what she was hoping for. I remember seeing her around school she was always by herself when we had freetime.
Once Ever was on the girls side of the stage the capitol lady had nodded at Ever and cheerfully said, “ Now for the gentlemen!”
She took her sweet time clawing around the names for the boys which made everyone more anxious.
She finally clawed a name out of that glass bowl and opened it and singsonged, “Finnick Odair please make your way to the stage!!!”
All the jokes and stories that I’ve been told just became so real to me. My heart was beating so fast as this usually meant most people's death, I made my way on the path to the stage my friends had worried looks on their faces.
My best friend Annie whispered to me as I passed her “ Good luck Finnick..”
Then she hugged me goodbye as I got to my side of the stage. I saw Mags looking more worried and scared then I’ve ever seen her.
The capital lady said with a laugh, “ What a pretty pair of tributes we got this year too!” The crowd nervously laughed at that joke even though we all knew this was nothing to joke about.
We had a hour to say goodbye to our parents, friends or other family. Ever didn’t seem to have anyone come she sat in the train waiting for the hour to be up. Mags came to see me with a worried look we hugged and then she gave me a shark tooth necklace she had once said was in her family for generations. The peacekeepers pushed me and Ever into the train the timer for the hour was over. The train was huge it was filled with countless rooms, mine was at the end of the train across from Ever’s room. My room was like nothing I’ve seen before it was so nice just like they show on the T.V on how nice the Capital locals have it. It was carpeted with soft furs of different animals and the bed sheets were made of nice slik and the pillows and blankets were made of some kind of soft gray and white fur unlike any animal I’ve seen. The other rooms in the train were filled with outfits and rooms for me and Ever’s stylists. My stylists name is Allio Dawncreek, Ever’s stylists name is Aurora Dawnwater. My stylists had deep blue hair and he wore lots of feathers and jewels. He seemed nice enough and said it’d be easy for me to look good in the sea themed outfits for my district with my bronze hair and tanned skin from being outside most my life. Ever’s stylist Aurora had dark red hair and she wore long elaborate dresses. The train had many rooms but I would only be allowed in a few of them, like the dining car, the bedrooms, meeting rooms for our stylists and the back of the car which was my favorite room. The back of the car had seats all around and glass windows that with a push of a button pull up and lets the outside in. My bedroom had a button on the wall with a tablet where I could order food directly to my room. There was red carpeted flooring all throughout the train. The capital lady called Ever and me plus our stylists and the mentor we haven't met yet.

  • @heyitszoey part two:

The capitol lady happily said as we all walked into the dining car, “Hello Finnick and Ever. Your Stylists Aurora and Allio want to get to know you two. They are in the meeting car down the hall.”
We both nodded and headed for the meeting car. Allio and Aurora were sitting at the table with coffees and a plate of cookies placed in the middle of the table. Me and Ever both took the seats across from Allio and Aurora.
Allio started the conversation “How are you two doing, we have already started on your costumes for the chariot ride, this year were sure that we will make the other stylists for the other districts a run for their money.”
I replied back to Allio “I’m holding up fine here thanks for asking” I forced a smile.
Ever stayed quiet as she ordered herself a drink not attempting to make conversation. Aurora didn’t look as happy towards us as Allio had.
She looked over at Ever and a little bit irritated by Ever’s silence, “So.. Ever isnt it? I’m just going to assume that your not having a good time here from your ignorance of Allio’s question.”
This seemed to anger Ever a little as she with annoyance in her voice said, “ No I’m not having a good time here. Your dressing us up for our death and hmm I don’t think Im very excited to die for your entertainment.”
She stormed out the room and we didn’t see her again that day. After Ever left the room Allio told me to leave too and that we would talk again soon. I spent most of that day in the back of the train watching the trees and towns flash by.
The next day Aurora seemed more tired than the day before the last few days. Allio had his happy demeanor as usual. We all came to the dining car they had breakfast ready to be ordered. I ordered some coffee and some pancakes. I ate until I was full because this would be my last day in this train. So I decided to see if maybe Ever would like to be allies in the arena until the final few people.
I looked over at Ever and said, “...So Ever this is the last day on the train, are you ready to leave after a few weeks of travel, I know I am.”
She simply looked up from her drink and nodded. I shook my head and decided not to push for it and hope we get a good mentor this year. After we had all ate breakfast we had to get dressed up for the capital. Allio came in holding a fancy sea blue suit with a light green bow-tie.
Allio proudly said holding up the suit in pride, “ Isn't it fantastic?! When I first saw you I started working on this suit right away, It will make the crowd love you. These colors suit you so very well. The dress we picked for Ever is very similar in terms of colors. Ever’s dress Aurora worked on has pretty little pink gemstones carved into seashells she placed along the bottom of the dress. You two are going to be the talk of the chariot ride. Now you Finnick go try on the suit and I’ll adjust it to fit you.”
I went off to the dressing rooms to put the suit on. It fit quite well. Allio seems to love to talk about his work he seemed to want to go on and on about the suit. Allio make adjustments here and there. He messed with my hair until he seemed satisfied with it. He added little makeup unlike himself which today he was wearing bright gold eyeshadow. I came out of the dressing room feeling confident.
Allio excitedly said as he adjusted my hair, “Oh finnick you look so handsome you will definitely win over the crowd with this outfit and that bright smile of yours!”
I smiled back at him as I replied, “ Thanks Allio”
Allio said in a more serious tone then his usual perky tone, “ I know I can’t bet on anyone but I’m rooting for you Finnick.”

  • @heyitszoey part 3

I nodded and he walked me over to Aurora and Ever. Ever had a annoyed look to her. She had her red hair down and curled and silver makeup and the dress that Allio had described to me. Aurora’s white dress had makeup on it and she didn’t seem happy with Ever.

Aurora angrily in a quieter voice, “I am going to change… Ever do not mess up your makeup or hair. Allio c'mon we must get the horses ready with their paint.”
Allio patted me on the back and smiled at me before he hurried after Aurora. That left me and Ever alone to wait to meet our mentor.
I tried to make conversation with her, “So did you ever hear that capital lady's name?”
Ever answered me with a normal tone, “She had said her name was Clementine Heavengrove once.”
I replied with a laugh, “I must have not paid much attention to it when she told us her name.”
Ever went to say something but there was a knock on the door. We both got up to answer it and there was a nicely dressed man standing the doorway. He had his hair neatly combed to the side and was wearing a black suit with a white tie. He also had a long scar on his right eye.
The man said with a serious tone, “Hello Finnick Odair and Ever lightwood isn't it? My name is Ardar Whitewater. I am going to be your mentor as Mags the oldest winner of the hunger games in district four can’t mentor anymore and I’m the youngest one and the most capable at the moment. I can’t say I seen either of you around our home district but that's most likely because of my travels and the fact that I live in a higher payed area then either of you. But enough about me, I will be doing my best to get the crowd to sponsor you two in the arena. Your stylists spoke very highly of you two.”
Me and Ever were escorted off the train and into a tall capitol building in the middle of the town with pretty flags and large glass windows all around the windows. The building seemed to go up forever. Allio and Aurora met us at the elevator. Allio had his usual bright smile. Aurora shook her head as she noticed Evers irritated look.

  • @heyitszoey part 4

Allio brightly said, “Oh the horses we picked out for the chariot ride are absolutely wonderful. They are beautiful white horses with long manes and tails. I got some of the capitol people here to lend me some paint and custom sea themed tack for our horses and oh how they look almost as beautiful as our two tributes today, Aurora why don’t you tell them how you made the chariot look wonderful as well?.”
Aurora said in a dimmer tone then Allios bright one, “We decided on a beach theme for the chariot since the horses are painted with wonderful ocean colors thanks to Allio. The chariot will be a eye catcher as well.”
We got into the elevator and Allio clicked a button and it sent us shooting down to a lower floor. The doors opened a few times for some capitol workers hurrying to get everything ready for the chariot ride. Once we got out of the elevator our mentor was standing by the chariot waiting for us to get there he was chatting with district twos mentor with their military themed chariot. We walked over there to Ardar he waved us over.
Ardar turned towards us and said, “Allio and Aurora you two did wonderful on these horses and chariots. Finnick and Ever also look beautiful and ready for today. You two will be escorted to the training room after the chariot ride. I’ll talk to you two more about what we want to plan to do for this years hunger games.”
The other mentor for district two nodded and headed off for her tributes.
Allio smiled at Ever and me and said in his usual cheery tone, “While we wait we can feed the horses sugar cubes! Isn’t it just wonderful? Why don’t you two taste one for yourselves they taste so sweet nothing like the salty food you two are used too in district four.”
Me and Ever took a sugar cube. I’ve never seen sugar like this or much sugar at all for that fact, I held it in my hand and rolled it around for a bit. Ever ate it instantly without thought. I finally put it in my mouth. It was so very sweet nothing like the salty fish we usually eat day to day at home. Allio smiled and then went off to go find Aurora who was chatting with the other stylists. Me and Ever spent the remaining time feeding the horses sugar cubes. Ever seemed happier than usual. She seemed to really enjoy spending time with the horses. But her happy look faded as the bell rung for us to go on the chariot. We took our seats and Allio and Aurora gave the horses the signal to move ahead. As soon as we got into the area. There was huge seats all around in a circle and a little dome shaped sitting area with president Snow and a few gamemasters. I looked around the area and the crowd was oohing and ahhing at everyones chariots and outfits. Allio had told us beforehand to smile and wave. And I did I feel that we were loved by this crowd, but when I looked over at Ever she seemed angry and frustrated. She didn’t wave at the crowd or smile she just looked forward. After we got off the Chariot. Allio was as usual smiling and Aurora was very angry.
Aurora started to angrily go off on Ever, “Ever why didn’t you do what we told you like Finnick wa-”
Allio stood up for both of us, “Aurora why are you so hard on them?! Why can't you just cut Ever some slack. Maybe she is right that she is being dressed up to fight to the death for our entertainment, if you would even try to understand what she's feeling right now maybe she would actually talk to you!”
Allio walked me and Ever out to our rooms his face was red from the argument with Aurora.
Allio calmly said to me and Ever, “I’m sorry about Aurora Ever. she has anger issues and she hates when she doesn’t get her way. It’s been like that for years. And no I don’t think how she treated you was right. I will talk to her tonight and Ever don’t take what she says to heart.”
Ever nodded and we all sat down at the table and ordered dinner. Aurora came back after dinner. She didn’t say anything to any of us she just went off to her room. After we had finished eating we all said our goodnights. I spent most of the night worrying about the arena. But I needed rest so I had gone to sleep.
The next morning Allio came in to wake me up. He had brought me a t-shirt and jeans.
Allio brightly with a smile as he did my hair said, “Do your best out there Finnick. I’m still betting on you.”
We walked out the room and waited for Aurora and Ever. Ever came out with Aurora as usual Aurora was ticked off at Ever. Ever had her hair in a long ponytail and she was wearing the same shirt and jeans as me. We walked to the elevator to go to the training room. Ardar our mentor was waiting at the training room door with two other tributes. A boy with deep brown hair and a sun tanned face with freckles and bright green eyes he had a serious look to him like he meant business. The girl had jet black hair and light brown eyes and a mean look to her. Ever seemed to light up a bit when she saw them. When the boy saw me he kind of studied me for a moment then turned away to look at Radar for information as me and Ever were.
Ardar started the conversation with a professional tone, “Finnick, Ever this is Thorn the male tribute from district two and the female tribute is Flame. The mentor from district, his name is Coil and I talked about maybe that you four can have a alliance in the arena.”
Thorn studied me some more and said, “Wasn’t it you guys who were having a fight with one of your stylists? Everyone's been speaking of that fight.”
Ever seemed a little irritated by this, “Well maybe you should keep to yourself and stop worrying about our problems huh?”
Thorn rolled his eyes at this. Flame gave Ever an almost approving look. Aurora had already left and went back up the elevator to “work”. Allio gave me a hug before Ardar lead us into the training room. There was a archery area with a tablet to choose a level and a target it seemed very high tech to what we usually see in the districts. The room had white and blue striped walls. In the middle of the room was the camouflage training area with nature based paints. Right behind that was the fish hook station. On the back wall was a glass window and a room behind it and the game masters were in there chatting and eating food that was served in the room. On the right side of the room they had a plant identification area, right next to that they had bags tied to a post with a red circle in the middle as a target and swords lined up on the wall for that station. On the other side with the archery area they had a boxing area for hand to hand combat. Thorn and Flame went straight to the sword fighting area. Ever went off to the plant area. I decided to spend some time at the archery area before the rest of the tributes get here. The trainer there had dark skin and pinkish hair with a welcoming smile.

  • @heyitszoey part 5

The trainer Oak said as I came near the archery are, “Hi you must be Finnick. Your chariot and outfit was wonderful. Your stylist did a great job on both of them. But anyway let's get to why you came over to me. Have you ever shot a arrow before?”
    I shook my head.
Oak smiled and said, “let's start you with some fake birds”
Oak pressed a few buttons on the tablet and gave me the bow and arrows, quickly and opened the doors for me. I walked in holding the bow ready with a arrow. As soon as I entered the area yellow birds came flying in the air in front me. I aimed the arrow at the bird and released it flying straight into the bird. It seemed easy enough until Oak gave me a smile and pushed another button the the tablet causing more yellow birds to fly above me. Other tributes came over to watch. I started to shoot most of them with success. After the bell rung for lunch I came out confident from the crowd watching me and complimenting my shooting. For lunch they had soups from around the districts, salty fried fish and lots of different types of sandwiches. I took a sandwich and some fish and a drink and I went to go and sit with Ever and Thorn and Flame. Flame and Ever were chatting away. Thorn had brought a tall slim girl to our table.
Thorn started the conversation as I sat down, “ Hey Finnick this is Iry. she’s from district three. She’s really smart and I think we can use her in our alliance.”
She looked up from what she was eating and she politely said, “I’d be grateful to be allowed into this alliance.”
I thought to myself she seemed way to prim and proper to even survive a day in the arena alone but Thorn seemed to like her but I noted my gut feeling not to trust her so I just nodded and ate my lunch. Our mentors would have the final say about whose officially in our alliance. I would rather only have three to four people in it because I don’t wanna have to kill them when it comes down to it. I already know when I’m leaving this alliance.
After lunch Thorn said to me, “Finnick come throw swords with me”
I replied in as happy as a voice I could manage, “Yeah sure let's get to it.”
I followed him over to the area the trainer helped us pick out a sword for our skill set.
As I threw swords at the targets with ease Thorn asked me with curiosity, “Hey how are you so good at this already?”
I stopped and looked over at him with a smirk as I threw another one and it landed ever so perfectly in the bright red center, “ It’s just like throwing a fishing spear, not much to it just look at what or who your trying to hit and then focus then let em fly.”
The trainer was very impressed with my skills she asked me if I’d wanna go tomorrow for a more advanced training session I nodded and walked over to Thorn as we waited for Flame and Ever and our stylists to come and get us. Most of the other tributes had already left. Ever and Flame finally came from the camouflage area. They had leaves painted on there faces. Me and Thorn laughed about that for a good while until Thorn and Flames Stylists came to bring them to there rooms. Which left me and Ever alone again.
I tried to start conversation, “So you seem really good at camouflage.”
Ever said with a smile for once, “Thanks I used to paint the sea back home when I could afford the paints… You are really good at throwing swords, makes me wish I would've went fishing more.”
I smiled and nodded a thank you to her as Allio walked in to get us after a long wait. Aurora wasn’t with him I wondered why she didn’t come.
Allio didn’t have his usual happy tone he seemed stressed out which worried me and he said in a dull and tired tone, “Hey guys sorry for the long wait… Aurora is having… problems and I had to deal with her. But come on guys let's go order dinner and go to sleep. Y’all had a long day of training and another to come.”
We followed him into the elevator. He clicked the button for our room and we shot up to our floor. We sat at the dinner table for a long time. Nobody seemed that hungry tonight. We said our goodnights and we all tiredly went into our bedrooms. I didn’t sleep much that night, I laid there thinking about how the arena would be. What creatures they have whipped up to kill us off this year. I trembled at the thought of last year's creatures a giant lizard looking thing with a long face and sharp teeth that would eat you alive and it came in packs once it found you… you had no chance of surviving or outrunning the creature. That image stayed in my brain the rest of the night.
The next morning I was the first up and at the table ordering breakfast. I ordered coffee and some eggs and toast. Allio and Aurora joined me in the morning. Allio had to go wake up Ever, she seemed to have no fear of the arena like I did. We ate in silence for a long time.
Allio as usual was the once to start the conversation, “Today is the last day of training. I know you both will work hard in there. Oh and before I forget Ardar asked me to tell you two to start planning what your going to do to impress the gamemasters.”

Aurora surprisingly said to Ever, “I heard your doing good from the trainers Ever. Im proud of you. And Finnick you’ve been doing great as well.”
Ever and I had a look of shock and both said our thanks. Me and allio went to the dressing and Ever and Aurora went to theirs.
Allio started to mess with my hair as he said with his usual cheerful tone, “I made you a lovely suit for the talk show with Flickerman. It’s a loose blue and white suit and Ever’s dress is rimmed with blue on the sleeves and bottom and a lighter blue for the main part of the dress.”
He handed me the same shirt and jeans from yesterday. After I got dressed we waited for Aurora and Ever to come out of the dressing room. After a good thirty minutes Ever and Aurora came out. Ever was of course wearing the same thing as me but her hair was tied up today in a high ponytail. Ever didn’t seem as mad today as she usually was. Me and Allio didn’t question why they took so long getting dressed so we just headed to the elevator. Allio as usual pressed the button that sent us shooting down into the training room where Ardar was waiting. He was standing with Coil, Flame and Thorn. Iry was standing with another group of tributes today which I was kind of glad she was, something about her didn’t feel right to me.
Ardar said in a business like tone, “ Start thinking about how you will impress the gamemasters with your skills. That will be right after lunch today and after that will be the talk show with Flickerman that's where you will get the capital people's attention to most likely become your sponsors.”
Ardar smiled then walked off to chat with other mentors behind a glass wall separating us from them. Allio and Aurora both told us good luck tonight. I headed over to the plant identification area. The trainer seemed nice enough. Ever and Flame were at the fish hook area and were both ignoring the trainer. Ever was showing her how to make some simple hooks. Thorn had gone to the archery area to learn how to shoot. After a while I got the hang of telling which plants were good to eat and what wasn't good to eat. I felt someone come sit beside me. It was Iry. She had a smirk on her face as she grabbed a bunch of plants sitting in front me.
Iry said in a arrogant tone, “Why are you wasting your time here? You could be spending it on better things like watching me train since you clearly have no chance of winning.”
The group behind Iry laughed. Iry smiled and walked away throwing the plants behind her the leaving the plants falling into my hair. All of the other tributes had their focus on me. I hid my anger by quickly removing the plants out my hair as the other tributes lose their focus on me. I walked away from that station and headed over to knot tying. I grew up tying knots. The trainer saw this and started me on more advanced knots. By the time the lunch bell rang I was tired and ready to face the arena. I got my food and sat with Flame, Ever and Thorn. Iry decided to sit with us. Purposely next to me. This ticked me off. First with the plants now with sitting next to me. The others seem to notice my annoyance and try to start conversation.

  • @heyitszoey part 6

Thorn avoiding eye contact with me asked no one in particular, “So… um how was training today?”
Iry seemed to enjoy my annoyance and answered Thorn, “It went relatively well Thorn.”
Thorn nodded. We mostly ate in silence until lunch was over. I headed over to the fire station and began on some simple fires. The boy from district one, his name was Hunter. Even though he had no idea how to shoot a bow or start a fire even with the aid of a lighter. I caught on pretty quickly and smiled up to the trainer when I had a small fire going. After that I wondered about until the end of the last training session. I met Ever at the elevator as usual we were one of the last ones picked up. Allio finally entered the room.
Allio triedly said, “Sorry about being late, me and Aurora lost track of time while working on your interview outfits tomorrow night. C’mon they have dinner ready for us.”
Allio smiled his usual smile at us as he pushed the elevator button sending us straight to our rooms. We all sat down at the dinner table and ate. No one really talked until Ardar came in.
Ardar in his usual business tone said as he sat down for dinner pointing at me and Ever, “So do you two know what your going to do for the gamemasters?”
Ever started speaking in a normal tone for once, “I think I’m just gonna tie some knots or something.”
    Ardar nodded.
I looked over at Ardar and said trying to hide my annoyance of the earlier hours,”I think I’m going to throw some spears or something like that.”
We all continued to eat our dinner. We all ate until we were stuffed.
Allio walked me down the hall and stopped me once we reached my room door, “ Hey Finnick, I just wanted to let you know I’m still betting on you. Good luck on your interview.”
He gave me a short hug and headed off to his room. I went straight to my bed. Peeled off the training outfit and put on some shorts and the shirt Mags had given me. I missed Mags so much. I spent most of the night thinking about what Mags is doing right now. I eventually after a few tears here and there I got to sleep for a few hours before Ardar was banging on everyone's doors trying to wake everyone up.
Ardar was yelling through the hallway, “Up! Up! Up! We have a big day ahead!”
I could hear his loud shoes tapping along the floor as I threw the blanket on the floor, put on the outfit Allio had left me and headed to breakfast. Ever and Aurora was late to breakfast as usual. I didn’t eat much this morning as I was still stuffed from dinner. I have no idea how the capital people eat all of this everyday. Allio was of course the first one finished he went off to go get something. He came back after breakfast and Ever and me were called into the dressing rooms to get ready.
Allio is holding a deep blue suit with a lighter blue inside as he said with pride, “Look what I’ve been working on since you started training. Isn’t it wonderful?! I made it just for you. You will look wonderful tonight.”
He gave me a hug and fixed up my hair before we headed out the dressing room to wait for Aurora and Ever. We sat outside the dressing room for a while until Ever and Aurora came out. Ever’s dress was very similar to my suit in terms of colors and design. Her dress has white seashells stitched into the bottom edges of the dress and her hair is curled and styled to the side in a elegant fashion. We headed to the elevator. They had the training room doors closed and the other tributes sitting in a waiting area outside the door. They had a four over Ever and my seats. Allio and Aurora had waved bye and went back up to our room like all the other stylists.
The speaker went off and called the girl from district one, “April Lockbrook please enter the training room”
April had long blonde hair and fair skin she was pretty tall for a girl from district one. She seemed to be about fifthteen years old. She basically skipped to the training room doors. This seemed like no place for such happy moments. After a long ten minutes.
They finally called the boy from district one, “Hunter Clearhill please make your way to the training room.”
Hunter also had dirty blonde hair and he was darker skinned than the girl. But not that much. He was about a foot taller than me. He was definitely over the age of fifteen he seemed to be about sixteen. The boy didn’t spend as much time as the girl in the training room. I wondered for a while what she had done to have taken that long.
They called the Flame after Hunter, “Flame Commonbrook please enter the training room.”
After Flame was called they called Thorn. He didn’t take too long in the training room.
They called Iry now,”Iry Cooperscope come into the training room.”
Iry didn’t take any time at all in the training room. I noticed her glare at me while she exited. It had made me uncomfortable.
They called Iry’s male counterpart,”Cedar Keendust please come to the training room.”
Cedar was a little taller than me. He had black hair and darker skin than Iry’s. He didn’t take long to be called out of the training room.
They called Ever to the training room, “ Ever Lightwood make your way to the training room.”
After about thirty minutes they called me into the training room. I walked in the room instantly smelling bleach and other cleaning products. We weren't allowed to know what other tributes did here. The game masters were sipping wine and chatting on the other side of the glass that separates us. They nodded at me as they noticed I had entered. I grabbed some rope a sword fighting dummy. Tied it up. I grabbed a sword and aimed it just right, then shot it straight into the dummy's target awarding me with some fake blood. I looked up and saw the game masters clapping and nodding for me to leave. I walked out and took my seat next to Ever
    Smiling.

They started calling the girl from district five, “Iris Underbreath please make your way to the training room.”
Iris seemed smart but not quite fit enough for the games. She was pretty short and she had short blonde hair. After that they called Jax Thornpath, a tall boy with dark brown hair and dark skin. District five didn’t seem like they would stand a day in the arena. They started to call district six. They called the girl. Her name was Halle Hawkwillow she had light brown hair and hazel eyes.
They called the boy from district five,”Jax Thornpath please go to the training room.”
Jax was a little taller than Iris. He seemed to have more of a chance in the games. District six wasn’t much better in terms of physical strength. The girl’s name is Halle Hawkwillow and the boy’s name is Flick Peacetree. They both had hazel eyes and that dirty blonde hair that marks most of their district. District seven looks really good in terms of strength. The girl’s name is Izy Mildhorn she was super tall at least a foot taller than me she had dark brown hair and almost black eyes. Her male counterparts name is Lane Ambergrove he was a strong looking boy. I saw him in training. He is amazing at hitting things with a knife. District eights girl tributes name is Alyss Springdust was very short and she had bright blue eyes and pale skin with soft freckles and very light blonde hair. She was very good at tying knots. The boy’s name is Citron Ashworth he was accepted into the career pack at the last second. He had pretty advantage skills. He was so fast and that's probably why the career pack wanted him. District nines female tribute’s name is Willow Spottedberg. She had long brown hair and she was pretty tall and has tanned skin like me. She was wonderful at making a fire and hiding the smoke she would surely survive at least a day. The male tribute’s name is Aldar Hardstone he had brown hair like Willow and he was great at identifying plants. Don’t know if that will help him but it's something. District ten’s female tribute’s name is May Sliverway she was here with her brother Neem Sliverway. They looked pretty similar they both had black hair, dark skin and bright green eyes. They had advadge skills. District elevans female tribute’s name is Eve Plainforest she never showed up for training, She was fair skinned and had red hair and she seemed weak. Her Male counterpart at least showed up for training his name is Mitch Hardstone he was a tall dark skinned boy he was really good at shooting a bow. District twelves female tribute’s name is Coral Lockberg she was really short with black hair and brown eyes. All she did in training was paint circles on her face. Her male counterpart was better off his name is Flint Silentstone he was strong and he threw swords most of training.
Allio and Aurora and Ardar came to bring us to the launch pad.
I said to Ardar, “ Any advice for us before we go?”
Ardar looked down at me with grim tone, “ Just stick together.”
Then he was gone. He’d be behind a screen with Flame and Thorn and Iry’s
Mentors betting on us. I nodded a goodbye to Ever. It was more like a cya soon. Allio led me to my launch pad. He had me change into the arenas uniform for this year.
I asked pulling at the tight fitting shirt, “ Any thoughts Allio?”
Allio rubbed the fabric between his fingers and sighed, “ It’s not waterproof but it seems to hold in heat, and Finnick I’m still betting on you”
He smiled and hugged me as I walked into the launch pod. The glass came around me and a tube came by my arm and held me still and shot a tracker deep into my arm. From now on they would know exactly where I am at all times. Allio waved goodbye with a sad look on his face. I was gonna miss him. The launch pad started counting down from ten. After those long ten seconds the launch pad shot upwards. The sun was blinding. I couldn't see anything but the shiny launch pad floor that was raised a few feet above the ground. Once I could actually open my eyes I saw there was the gold cornucopia in the middle with a stream behind it coming from a tall mountain. A forest on the left. A flower field on the right. The other tributes looked like they were dreaming. Many were rubbing their faces as if to see if this was real or not. The forest was beautiful but I dare not doubt what the game masters had put in there to kill us. The flower field had tons of brightly colored flowers.
The gong for us to move snapped me back to reality. Most of the tributes didn’t even move from their launch pad. I ran straight for a sword and a bow and a bag with what I’m hoping is food inside. I run around until I find Thorn with a sword as well. We both nodded at each other and ran to find Ever, Flame and Iry. Ever and Flame were right behind us. I handed both of them a knife. Iry was on the other side. The career pack was already starting the bloodbath.
I looked at Thorn, “ There's no way we can risk getting Iry”
Thorn looked shocked, “We can’t just leave her!”
I sighed and the four of us ran behind and yelled for Iry to come. Hunter from district one tried to shot me in my thigh but i blocked it and quickly shot him in the head. I didn’t know I would turn deadly so fast. Iry basically skipped over.
Iry said in a petty voice, “Um I need a knife”
I said, “ Oh well. Lets go Now!”
The four of us headed for the safety of the woods. I made Iry walk in the middle of me and Thorn. Once I felt like we were far enough from the bloodbath everyone sat down near one of the larger trees. I opened the bag. There was a large jug for holding water. A box of crackers. Some matches. And a large sleeping bag.
Iry went to reach for the crackers but I quickly grabbed them and said in a annoyed tone, “ What the hell are you doing Iry?!”
Iry said in a even more petty voice folding her arms, “ Well I’m hungry.”
I said quickly, “ You can wait.”
I looked over at Flame and Ever and said, “Can you guys gather some twigs for a fire?”
    They nodded.
I said to Thorn, “ Watch this for me.”
    I handed him the bag.
I said in a tired voice, “ I’m going to start setting up a area for us in this tree.”
Iry said annoyed, “ And what can I do exactly?”
I said with a smile, “ Try not to die will ya?”
I climbed up the tree and saw the careers heading for the mountain probably searching for victims. I looked at where the bloodbath had ended. At least five people are dead already and it's only been a few hours. I also noticed the candy colored birds flying around. That is good to know there are some normal animals here. I began to notice the small rodents skurring along the forest floor. I jumped down from the tree.
I said with a more grim tone as Flame and Ever got back, “ At least five are dead”
Flame and Ever dropped the pile of sticks into our bag. We gathered all our items and went back to the center to get water. We crouched on the edges of the forest. We looked around and saw the dead tributes being carried away. One of them was Cedar who was from Iry’s district. She didn’t seem to care which ticked me off. There was no sign of other tributes so we headed for the stream. Flame and Ever guarded while and Iry and Thorn were watching for anything dangerous while I filled our jug of water.
We headed back to the tree and set up camp. We got into the tree. I used a knife to cut the blanket in half and then make another for Iry. I tied leaves together with plant stems. I tied our weapons to the branches above us and then covered them in leaves to hide them. I showed everyone how to tie themselves to the branch so they could rest. I also gave everyone a cracker and some water. They showed the faces of the dead tributes in the sky. Hunter Clearhill from district one is dead. I killed him. Cedar from district three was killed by Lane Mildhorn. Iris Underbreath from district five was killed by Izy Ambergrove. Both tributes from district eight are dead both killed by Lane and Izy and the girl from twelve stabbed herself with a sword. The last one played capital music then it was gone, six people dead in less than twenty four hours.

  • @heyitszoey part 8

I didn’t sleep much. I heard screams off in the distance. It didn’t seem to bother any of my companions. But I dare not wonder who or what caused those screams.
Once the sun had risen I woke everyone up so we could keep moving. Iry groaned the whole time while we tried to hunt. She scared off any prey we had any chance of getting. Oh how I wanted her gone. But I knew I couldn’t kill her. I had to lead her into danger somehow. Or cause her to actually attack me. But I left those thoughts as we headed deeper in the arena. We traveled a few hours without break until we were all too thirsty to keep going. We stopped and took turns drinking some of the water we had. The sun was setting again. The days here seem to go faster than normal. Tonight we didn’t have a tree to sleep in so we took turns guarding the others. I had first shift. I heard wolf like creatures howling. They sounded close and I didn’t like it. I had my bow beside me and my sword in my hand and my companions behind me. The sky lit up with the people who died today. April Lockbrook from district one killed by a giant moth. That's both of district one dead. Willow Spottedberg from district nine killed by Izy. Another one. May Sliverway fell out a tree and died. Then Capital music again then the faces are gone. Nine tributes dead in less then two days. Fifteen people left. More screams off in the distance.
The sun was rising as I turned around to have Iry hold a knife to my face, I grab my sword and swing at her. I dont miss I stab right into her chest. Instantly killing her. Flame, Ever and Thorn all wake up to this. They all look horrified as a pool of blood soon surrounds their feet. Iry is gone. I’m actually happy to be rid of her. We decided to break up the alliance. I went off alone to the other side of the forest when I heard more screams. Then I saw them. These creatures were almost as large as me there were at least five of them. They had long hairy bodies and long sharp claws and teeth and long legs. I ran for my life. They chased me until I had reached the top of one of the large oak trees. I sat there until nighttime and waited for the faces of the dead tributes to come onto the sky. Mitch killed by battle. That's district eleven gone. Neem killed by creatures. That's district ten gone too. April killed by fire. That's district one gone. And last but not least Iry is dead killed by me. That leaves eleven tributes left. I slept in the tree for the rest of the night.
I headed off to go find a fight. I took down some of the candy colored birds and heated a rock and cooked the bird. I heard two gongs go off another dead. I heard Ever scream. I ran towards her. I was too late the giant moths were already devouring her when I shot at the moths to get them away so i could cover Evers dead body in leaves. I stayed there the rest of that night. The sky showed that Ever was dead both Thorn and Flame dead, District five gone, Lane from district seven gone. District twelve gone. District six gone. The only person left was Izy and me.
I headed to the center of the arena and then a gift was slowly coming toward me. It was quite large. When it came down it was a large green trident with a note that read, “ I’m still betting on you from; A”. It was from Allio! I took it with pride and raced for the center of the area where Izy was probably waiting for me. And she was. She was already bleeding she threw her last sword at me but missed. Then I threw my mighty trident at her instantly killing her. I was carried into a capital plane and had my wounds treated. I was showered with gifts. I was the youngest to ever win the hunger games. I went home with Allio he helped me with the capital things and that sort of stuff. My district would get food every month for as long as I live. I came home to Mags. She was so happy. I decided that some capital people aren't that bad after all.

Okay that’s the end. the ending was a little rushed I would’ve liked to have added a bit more detail but thanks for reading this and please tell me what you think! I wanna know and tell me things I can improve on or things I did well :) thank y’all for getting this far lol 😂

Yeah that’s why I had to post in parts. It had said error over character limit or something along those terms. ( I don’t really remember but I do remember it wouldn’t let me post all of it in the actual topic)
