@Saloniii using them for communication is great and I understand that part, it is everything else that I don't get. People are on their phones all the time, even when they're not talking to anyone. To me that is boring, so I don't know why people think it is entertaining
ADDICTION: a disease or a choice?
-
Do you think addiction is a disease or a choice? Just curious about people's view points
-
@emilyyyyy So ultimately they get to choose to continue the addiction or put efforts to change it, but mentally its a disease? is this what you mean or am I confused?
-
@Bonnibel yaa kinda. i think it is a mental and physical disease because your body and your mind can be addicted. but if you want to recover you have to want it and work for it so you can cure it. and if you want to do that is your choice
i hope you understand what i mean
-
@Bonnibel It starts as a bunch of choices, conscious or not. And then gradually, the person might become so accustomed or so dependent that it becomes a disorder.
Personally, addiction better be called a disorder than a disease, though. -
@Bonnibel Awww are you Addicted to something
-
@Bonnibel well I think once it becomes a habit, it'll be harder to break it down.
-
@Bonnibel The boundaries seem to diminish where habits end and addiction starts or maybe they're the same thing.
Made me wonder when habit and addiction overlap and where they separate. lol, that made me make a different post after reading yours. -
@Bonnibel I was Addicted to painkillers....Now everything is good...bro,
️
-
@Bonnibel awwwwww thanks bro

-
i just hate when people use it as crutch, a scapegoat, or a copout
-
@Bonnibel I don't think they have a choice once they're an addict, so yeah maybe it becomes a disease then. but it also depends on what type of addiction it is, I guess.
-
@Bonnibel idk. all of them, maybe?
-
its both i think, hobby is just like addiction and when you always doing that thing you cant stop it and it turn into disease or vice versa
-
@Bonnibel
smoke weed Everyday
-
@GreyWind I've never heard it be categorized as a disorder before but I think that is actually a smart label
-
@Bonnibel
Helplessness and Loneliness lead To bad Choices Which turns into Addiction 🙁....
-
@GreyWind Yeah, which makes sense. Even something like coffee. People that drink coffee every morning cant go a day without it or they will start to actually experience withdrawals. It becomes a mental and physical challenge
-
A disease because I have got a addiction of mobile games and I cannot pass my day without playing it..
-
Choice is illusory
-
@Bonnibel 1000% not a choice. I have to work and fight every moment of every day to not give in to my sometimes debilitating urges and cravings
