Anything you want to know about Finland?
-
I know that Finland isn't really a very popular nation, but if you have anything you're curious about
even if you can get the answer on googleyou can ask it here. No matter if it's about the language, geography, nature, stereotypes, whatever. I should be able to answer. -
Is it true that there is no summer in Finland?
-
@ash4u We do have all 4 seasons, including summer. Summer isn't too pleasant here though. It's often rainy and cold. There are the good days when it's sunny and warm, but those are outshadowed by the cold, windy days. Thats where the stereotype of Finland having no summer comes from.

I read somewhere that Finland is the happiest country, is that true?
-
@Eye Statistically, yes. We have plenty of reasons to be happy, like safety, stability, good healthcare and education.
Of course, a lot of Finns do suffer from the winter blues, and depression is very prevalent here. But overall, yes, we are happy. -
Yeah i heard the government gives you money just for existing, pretty nice deal
-
@Eye Doesn't exactly work like that, but i am too uneducated to explain how it does work.
-
@RussianBlue yeah i figured theres more to it than that
-
@Eye If you are curious i can answer this once i get the chance to read more about it
-
@RussianBlue What do you think about Sanna Marin?
-
@RussianBlue hey Blue, what is that word the finnish have that means like balls, gts, determination, not giving a fuck? I think it's from when a small force of Finns held off a huge Russian army. Also if you live near Santa can you tell him I've been good? Thanks 😁
-
@RussianBlue
do you go to the sauna often? is it fun to chill out in a sauna?also, should finland be renamed funland?
-
@Silhouette Not very political, haven't heard of her yet.
-
@sarah_the_magpie I go to the sauna when we go to our cottage, nearly every weekend. It is pretty relaxing.
And no, we don't appreciate this thing called fun -
@Scottish Im not sure what you are talking about, are you talking about the word sisu or the phrase "tulta munille"
burn the balls? And sure, Santa is my neighbor! I'll tell him right away
-
@RussianBlue what do u recommend for a person who has never been to Finland to visit if he/she decides to take a trip there?
-
@idek2019 For one, if it's winter you HAVE to visit Rovaniemi, Lapland. It has a christmas town, which contains a little fun park, restaurant, ice museum and a lot of other activities. I've visited it, and i say it was a blast.
Secondly, i recommend being a nature tourist instead of your typical city-roaming one. Finland has a lot more to offer naturewise and culture-wise than anything else.
Also, a bit away from your question, but anyone who visits Finland has to have a Karelian pie. They just have to, ok. They're delicious. -
@RussianBlue sisu, Blue, that's the one! Thanks. I think i heard mika haakinnen speak about it once
-
@RussianBlue awesome, I’ll keep note of that. Thank u 👍🏻

Is it true that, when sun appears, people in Finland go out naked to take it?
