A Difficult Decision
-
If you had to loose one of your senses, which one would it be and why?
Touch, sight, smell, sound, taste? -
@TheGoldenMole
Taste.
I'm more into juices and healthy diet anyway so it doesn't matter if I have the sense of taste or not.
Besides, other senses are relatively more important. -
Loose the sense of equilibrium because i already have lost the balance in my life.
And there are more then 5 perceptible senses inside the human body, mind you. -
Well, I think out of all the senses to lose, I'd rather lose taste. I feel that I would not enjoy my life as much without being to hear the sound of music, birds and the voices of those around me.
To lose sight and not being able to see the faces of those you love, to see the colours and events which occur around you.
To lose touch would mean giving up the feeling of warmth of those I embrace, patting a dog or pulling out blades of grass.
I was going to give up the sense of smell, but to miss out on perfumes and deodrants or a rose, etc. TL;DR: I'd give up on taste.

@TheGoldenMole
To be honest, I’m not much into the taste of the food. I just have it to maintain energy and stuffs. I’m mostly into juices, which is tasty, and other vegetables.... I more or less like whatever I eat but as I said, its the least important of the senses that I would like to possess if a choice has to be made. -
@TheGoldenMole Why lose your senses when you could lose yourself
-
Touch.. Id go full KickA$$ on everyone
-
@TheGoldenMole I would lose taste....I'm already out of that...No appetite :(
-
@TheGoldenMole sight, I want to experience the world as a blind person
-
Smell obviously
-
okay touch.
It isn't important.
-
Here s a beautiful quote -
"You talk of wondrous things you see,
You say the sun shines bright;
I feel him warm,but how can he,
Make it day or night"
- C.CibberMoral of the story - pledge to donate your eyes(after you die ofc) to light the life of a blind person.
-
@Wolfie_11 I’m guessing your healthy food isn’t that tasty?
-
@TheGoldenMole If it were possible to choose it would be smell, except in case of exposure to toxic gases. But within an urban perspective, without elements of primitive survival, I believe it would be the most dispensable sense.
-
@Karina-Kara Yes but he asked which one of THOSE you would choose to lose and why.
-
I'd give up my sense of taste, and then go out of my way to become a world-famous restaurant reviewer for a posh Sunday supplement, all the while completely making up the taste of the food I was eating, thirty years hence revealing my subterfuge, proving that Jamie Oliver's life is completely pointless, and demanding he be ceremonially executed at my feet.

@TheGoldenMole yeah. What about the smell of rain, freshly mown lawn, the smell of new puppies? The smells of food as well.
I would think that without taste I'd be able to eat a wider variety of food as I wouldn't have the bias of taste to make the decision- like squash, mushrooms, eggplant, quinoa. I'd never have to send a meal back to the kitchen if I ate out because well, I couldn't fault its taste.
