Omg yes! All my textbooks have eyes drawn on many pages, I just couldn't't stop my hand from drawing one while I used to be in the class. It's strange if I think of it now, is it illuminati compelling us?

Have you tried water colour pencils?
The reason I ask is, I use them (learning to, I prefer graphite)... but once I have finished I use damp cotton buds and wet paint brushes to manipulate the colours. If need be go again with the pencil while the page is still damp ;) -
