so what is it you seek?
A philosophical question,
-
@wtfjudith it's pointless to even think about tbh
-
@zeus-_ I believe in Science. I don't believe in god. I think god doesn't exist. Just because we don't completely know how we came into being doesn't mean that god did it. It simply means "We don't know". And we are working to figure it out.
-
@wtfjudith Knowling that how the world originated helps science to understand the universe. Understanding the universe is very important.
-
I dont think its god who created us, neither higher entity. Maybe evolution? but it doesnt seems real also. Figuring it out seems impossible. BTW, anyone thought about what happen after we die?
-
@normalguy After we die, everything is finished. That's the easiest question to answer. Simple. There is nothing after that.
-
I always believe in God. I don't know why though but there's something telling me He's real.
P.S. Meeeeeeh

This requires a grand definition of all the terms you put in the question. What do we mean by science and what do you mean by materials? Does your use of "science" mean positive or exact or "hard" science or does it include more formal sciences that depend on logic and deduction? Similarly, by materials are we to suppose that nothing beyond matter is to be excluded. If we take evolution as the only mechanism of change in the universe, then it becomes difficult for anything to exist that is non-material. An interesting thought: if matter has been eternally present would it not be a higher power than us?

@evan-elderson I am happy to see that others think so deeply into these matters. Keep searching Evan, as with many things the truth is right in front of our eyes 😊
-
@mcurie I like your answer Curie, I agree that you shouldn't put something off to God just because humanity hasn't found the answer yet. Humans have a long way to go to find the answers they crave but you will never get there if you ask a God to find the answers for you 😊
-
I'd go for a more scientific approach
-
@joewindsurf that is a good question Joe, one that is very hard to answer! If that were the case, would matter have some form of being even at the most fundamental level? Would that mean that the universe itself is one big system with a consciousness that we may never understand? That is a good question to ponder Joe, thank you for your reply 😊
-
@cherry-17 as would I Cherry 😊
-
@zeus-_ I'm a medical student so it's pretty common for me to think like that
