@pe7erpark3r Maybe because money is now an ethos, represented by wealthy people who act against the rest of society’s interests. The power is when money is enough to builds strength, and its organization of profiting contributes to that power. Money creates political power even for politicians who do it because it creates wealth.
It makes me think about how great communist in confiscating properties of rich in the past
I've probably got a below average IQ; I can only even gain access to the University of Life by climbing in through the khazi window. But I love politics, and don't see how anyone can not. Think about it: politicians are the only people we can legitimately hate in life. They're at a perfect, schizophrenic nexus point of the modern phenomenon of society being woke and pro-active, and the secret truth that everyone is self-indulgent, only committing good acts on the flimsiest of whims.
now, to be fair, totalitarian governments may be more efficient in pursuing short-term goals, but no one actually wants to live in a dictatorship (or at least i hope so!)
People are tempted to want to live in that. For example someone might realize that the government is completely unaware of a real danger for the country, while the military leaders see it is clearly as night and day. Of course this situation is not just some stupid example, it's actually real, and will be real. So they might be tempted to think, that a country led by those who see what's important is better.
But ofc that's short sighted, for those people will be blind to the next problem. And also, they do not realize, that a dictatorship will be hell, for it does not allow any opposition, not even the one in your own living room...
@sarah_the_magpie I hear that. I'll rig up some kinda headgear so I can still watch her when she comes on TV. Like they had on that episode of Star Trek when they had those aliens the sight of which sent people INSANE.
