Well, I’m a fortunate and shameless guy who uses an iPhone gifted by his ex. So, I can’t really complain. Just shared a few pointers (since you asked). Every individual is different though.. So it need not work on everyone.

I guess its a double-edged sword. If you confess it and (s)he's not into you, then you risk spoiling the friendship. And if (s)he's into you, then its a bliss. Also, it depends on the nature of your friend. I mean I've confessed and been confessed to a few times but at the end, I guess the fact that I can joke it with them is what makes the friendship from being ruined. Obviously, I have lost 1 of the friends 'coz of this situation too but usually, most of my friends understand that it is a phase and it will just go away so there's no point sticking to what someone 'said'.

So speaking for you, I guess you've to decide whether to take the risk or not. If you think you can handle the 'no' and still keep continuing being friends, then go for it.

Yes, I really think opposites attract. Though, the frequency of fightings between alike-minded people are less, but its lethal. Whereas, when the opposite minded people fight, atleast one of 'em might believe in apologizing. Though I guess its fair to say that these days humans defy the law of nature and a small sample size is not sufficient enough to note the behavioural patterns of the public in large. So I am gonna keep assuming based on my experiences, that opposites attract.

I guess I answered that. I can't be with someone who is as stealthy and concealing in nature as me. So I oughta be with someone who is different than me. Would be good to know and notice a person with unique qualities than the ones I'm already aware of.
