So, I finally decided to get my s#!t together and start taking care of my health. I was wondering if there's anyone who is starting this journey too and is looking for some one-to-one support (I know I'll need it eventually). I know "fitness buddy" is a vague term but I guess what I am looking for is someone with whom I can be mutually accountable about the health-related goals we have for ourselves, maybe check up occasionally on each other, maybe motivate each other... I don't know.. something like this, I guess. I tried apps like myfitnesspal and stuff but it kinda takes away the curiosity aspect of the interaction and makes it so boring. Anyway, if you're interested, let me know.

Anyone up for becoming health buddies?

RE: What kind of secret society would you like to start?
@Ash I would love to create a group of skilled linguistics, cryptographers, and historians who transcribe random information from the world (news, a recipe of spaghetti and meatballs, maybe memes) into ancient languages and insert them into important historical evidence (monuments, scripts, etc).
Oh lord, I can't wait to read all the insane conspiracy theories and discussions. It would be chaos! -
What is your first childhood memory?
I remember being in a park running around a giant slide shaped like a shoe.

What is beauty?
They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but is that truly so? I think our interpretation of what is beautiful heavily depends on our life experiences and culture. Like sideburns or bell-bottomed pants. But then some things remain beautiful across generations, like sunsets, Gothic architecture, or genuine smiles.
What is beauty then? Is it a subjective illusion? can it be objectively measured?

What are you obsessed with rn?
I'll go first. I have been consumed by #hualian this last week. I just finished the novel and man, I cannot get enough of these two! Please release the next season already! :loudly_crying_face:

RE: What was your first job?
My first job was writing a blog against vaping for school. It was weird because I hadn't yet seen a vape irl back then.

Does the internet make you sadder or happier?
Over the last five decades, internet use has boomed worldwide. People from across the globe get to be on a single platform, at the same time. It is exciting, yet unnerving. Even just a century ago, this would be considered either sorcery or divination. But today you and I have this magnificent power at our fingertips. But how does this power impact our minds? I was going through this paper (ref below) recently that discussed mental health and internet use and wanted to discuss with it you all. Let me know your thoughts. :)

RE: Anyone up for becoming health buddies?
@kaia_ That sounds like a pretty decent active lifestyle! I've been working remotely for a year now and my walk to work is literally from my bed to the desk (barely 10-15 steps) :D But I'm joining these dance sessions from today, so let's see how they work out!

RE: Let's build a story...
@somedumbguy Yet somehow, this time he came unannounced. As he walked to the door, I squinted through the curtains to catch a glimpse of his expression, but I could not. Perhaps this was just a courtesy call. Perhaps he was simply concerned for my well being. After all, there was no way he would have discovered the truth.
This thought should have reassured me, why did it instead send a shiver down my spine? -
RE: Let's build a story...
@Kaneki-kun Absolutely! though could you also add an english translation as well? I mean there's always google translate but it's not always so accurate. Just for the sake of readers like me :see-no-evil_monkey:

Let's build a story...
As I looked out the window, a black Honda pulled up in our driveway. I knew this day would come. It was finally time to face him.
(add to this story as you deem best. Let's try and build a story together. Note: please refrain from profanity and lewdness)

RE: What is beauty?
@Ash I hit a wall every time I try to look for an answer to this question and to any existential questions, really.
I have been wondering what would be an ideal society, and I swear I can find no answer to it. It is impossible to create a society (at least with the current human ethics) that is "fair to all." There will always be those who struggle and those who don't need to, those who have everything and those who have nothing, those who live and those who die. Is this harmony? This relentless cycle of human existence? What good is "good" if the very definition of "goodness" is relative and not absolute? Is one person's life more precious than another's?
