hello everybody
Can anyone please tell me how to check what is my ip address?
-
and how can i change my ip address?
how can i check any other device's ip address? -
-
@jessica-mormont the easiest way to change your IP would be by using a VPN. I would suggest Windscribe. It has a free version and it also offers 10 GB bandwidth after registering, which is much larger than other VPN services.
-
@jessica-mormont CMD, write ip config

@sarah-williams
@BloodDrunk
@Sir-Devil
thanks for resolving that, but what if i have to check another device's ip from another device (mobile) , and how to transfer files using the ip addresses of respective device -
@sir-devil
is windscribe safe for torrenting? it has but only upto 10 gb support =( -
@jessica-mormont Yes but most other free VPN services only offer 1 Gb of Bandwidth and yes, it is safe for torrenting.
-
@sir-devil that means no HQ downloads
-
@sir-devil and how to change my ip address without vpn?
-
@jessica-mormont Another method is to use a Tor network (Just download a tor browser in Pc) but it would mean, you sacrificing your speed. Or, you could use a proxy server (just google it) but it is insecure and it could be easily detected.
-
@jessica-mormont for this, I need to clarify something. The device for which you want to find the IP, Is it yours? It needs to at least connected on the same network or else, it would mean a lot of extra work.
For transferring files via IP address, the other person must consent to it. It would make things a lot more easier.

Are you doing any illegal kinds of stuff?! Just Asking...
-
@sir-devil just to clarify, tor can't be used for torrenting.
-
If you are ready to pay, things would go a lot different. You could get a secured and encrypted VPN service with an unlimited Bandwith. If you are indeed ready to pay, I would suggest Private Internet Access. The price is around 7$ per month but you could connect up to 5 devices on the same VPN network (Hence, you could even share with someone). I'm suggesting this because they have a policy of keeping no records of your activity and it has been tested and proved on the court. So, even if the court orders, they can't sell you out; You know, in case you are doing some illegal stuff.
-
@sir-devil appreciate your response on the Tor network method, though i ain't that a big tech savvy and i cant do insecure and it if it doesn't support torrenting i wont go there
-
@sir-devil to change ip address i want to download torrents anonymously?
also i need to be able to handle ip addresses to transfer files between devices
would it be illegal to check on a bf or gf with the help of an ip address, i hear i can access a lot of things from ip addresses -
You could also go for OpenVPN. It is a VPN service where you have to manually connect to a VPN server. It is not that difficult, you could search the google for a tutorial. The problem with this is, you won't know nothing about the servers (btw, you would need to search for "OpenVPN servers" and input it into the software. It would be explained in the tutorial anyway). Hence, the speed could be unstable. They may even keep track of your record. You would need to test multiple servers to get the best speed.

@sir-devil plus i got long ways to go before i can do any real illegal stuff
first i gotta master ip addresses =) -
@sir-devil i'll try doing that, thanks for the help
Cheers! -
@jessica-mormont If it's nothing illegal, these methods should suffice.
You can transfer files between two devices via their Ip address using Command Prompt. For this, you would need to know that device's IP address. Basically, you would send a request from your device to their's with the help of a cmd command and their IP. This means that you would need to be in control of the other device, as someone must accept the request.Yes, you learn a lot of info using one's IP. It would be illegal depending on how much and what info you are gathering and what you do with that info.
