the phenomenon according to which certain initial advantages tend to accumulate and amplify, creating over time an ever greater gap between those who have less and those who have more, in terms of wealth, but also in education, credibility, prestige and resources, it's kind of a spiral. It is called the "San Matteo" effect. And it is a gap, which nobody wants to close.
