@Angelyoung13
ooh, MBTI! as a teenager, i used to be obsessed with personality types :) i'm an INFJ, i've gotten that result in every single MBTI test i've ever taken, and i've taken literally hundreds. what's your type, angel? -
@sarah_the_magpie I get that. I had to take an 8 hour overall "personally" test once, for a job I was hoping to get. THAT was intense, and in depth. Afterward, the old German psychologist woman who administered the test sat me down to read me the results. She said I had some form of mild depression, and paranoia. When I heard that it made me kind of sad, but then, I thought, could or should I trust her?
-
@Angelyoung13
nice! we're supposed to be a relatively rare personality type, so it's nice to meet another INFJ :D -
@Angelyoung13 Overall I came out as a Defender. Cripes. Introverted, observant, feeling (really?), judging, turbulent. Nearly the opposite of every other personality test I've ever had to take, aside from the introversion.

@Lazz
it's pretty common to get weird results with these tests. the largest pitfall with MBTI (and most online personality tests in general) is that because you basically self-administer the test, there's a lot of potential for confirmation bias to strike in. the only way to find your true type is to take the test over and over and over again until all biases disappear, but it's a hell of a time sink :/ -
@sarah_the_magpie I thought mine was that, too, but nope. Is what it is, I always say
-
@Lazz
an 8 hour psychology test? whoa, sounds intense :O the longest psych evaluation i've ever had lasted for an hour, and it honestly felt like hell. i've never felt more like a garbage human being than i did when i got to read the results. i can't even imagine what an 8 hour evaluation must've felt like -
@Angelyoung13
This is what I got
Yes, call me lazy, cba to crop the image :shrug:
-
@Angelyoung13 I'd have to say my personality type is: Reserved. Make of that what you will.
-
@sarah_the_magpie INFJ-T
-
@Angelyoung13 ISFJ-A / ISFJ-T is what it gave me
-
@sarah_the_magpie That didn't happen for me. I just had to do mine once. As I was reading about it, I wept due to how overjoyed it made me feel. It felt as though my heart and soul was put into writing. It knew everything about me. I'm rare, and I'm special.
-
@sarah_the_magpie I am happy and proud to be who I am, even though I'm different. And I honestly just love how nice you are about everything. Your a really great person, and that is a great personality trait to have.
-
@sarah_the_magpie This is what I mean!😊❤️
-
@sarah_the_magpie It sucked, and I didn't get the job, but at least I got a joke out of it. That was at the end.
-
@Lazz the thing is. Do you lack somewhere in your life? Is there anything troubling you? Are you happy the way you are? If you are satisfied by these answers even if you have any kind of trouble it doesn't matter
-
@Lurker Same here, Lurker.

16personalities might be the most popular MBTI testing site (and has by far the most decent UI), but the scoring system is a bit flawed. 16personalities pretty much identifies the type of an examiner by tallying his responses between the polar ends of the spectrum (I or E, T or F, etc.). This might be misleading since MBTI's identification system should solely lie based on the resulting function stack of the examiner. Function stacks are the core of MBTI; whereas most would think a one-letter difference isn't a big deal, but it actually is.
I once tested out as an INFP, but pretty much didn't find myself fit in. I then took my second try and got an INTP-- which by far I believe is my type. It IS a one-letter diferrence but the function stack of each type says a lot. INFPs are Fi dominant, while I think I'm more of an inferior Fe person. I sought help a few times before, and most people told me I maybe just have a well-developed Fe.
Anyways, I'm not trying to discredit 16personalities or something. In fact, they're a great starter for someone interested with typology. Just keep in mind most of the testing sites online aren't as accurate as we might suppose to think. -
