Ok so I know this has been done before by a lot of users, but it’s 4:50 am and I don’t want to sleep but at the same time I want to and wait that’s not the point.

Just ask me questions, the weirder the question, the better. I’ll be forced to answer all of them. (That doesn’t mean I’ll know the right answer tho 😂)

Three days after we got him he fell ill.. my mom found him curled up in a corner, vomiting while he refused to eat or drink and was super dehydrated.

When I came back from school that day, eager to see my new pup, turns out my mom had brought him to the vets and she was pretty stressed out about it. It had been so heartbreaking to me. I had barely even met him 3 days ago and already he was gone 😕

So we waited and he was later diagnosed with the parvovirus. It’s a highly contagious intestinal disease with a very high mortality rate, especially for puppies. Our vet told us that his chances of survival were really slim and he was in the emergency care for 4 days.

On the fourth day they finally called us saying he was doing a miraculous recovery and we could bring him back home. So we did but they next morning before I had even woken up, he had been sent back to the vets by my parents who found him in an even worse condition than before..

Two days later we were informed that he was doing worse and worse and the treatment for parvovirus costs about 1000-2000$ a dose plus the emergency care it was at least 1500-2500 a day and the vet kept on discouraging us saying his chances were so slim.

So it had been decided by my parents that they’d leave him 2 more days then if he was still sick they’d put him out of his misery..

But happy endings do exist and the next day that bitch finally got a hold of himself and stopped trying to fucking die already and finally came home!! 😄😄😄

The thing is tho that dogs are supposed to be vaccinated since birth for that shit and apparently all of his 7 brothers and sisters got the illness to. The breeder gave us back the price of the dog and had said that he’d take him back and we could get another one in the next litter, but we understood from this that he would just kill the poor thing straight away..
Over half of Pilou’s siblings died from the virus, if we had gotten him any later, they breeder would have killed the litter before they could infect the other dogs he had..

So yeah, that’s about it
