It's one life for 12. Really no argument there, but if I was able to, I would do anything possible to save them all. Without a doubt, I would still feel bad that the one person died, but I did what I could, y'know?

You asked that question badly, anyone would save the 12 people. The proper question would be 3 (random number) people with families on one track and 6(random higher number) homeless people without families. Would you rather save the homeless people with no family and make the other people's families feel a lot of pain or save the ones with families so that nobody would grieve the homeless people?
