You up for bi curious
What's the difference between a friend and an acquaintance?
-
friend is so ubiquitous it's almost a pronoun. like 'you'.
did you cringe, because you thought I misused it? 'I like you, I love you, I want to be your friend?' I was actually downgrading from a 'girlfriend.'
I have a couple 'true' friends myself, yeah, we try not to bother each other either. if it's so easy to talk, why don't we?
Is it history that grants the certificate of authenticity? I'm not even the same person, most of their stories are useless. you probably know me better than they do.
friend can be a small word or a big word. acquaintance is definitevely small. -
@Janet @Eucalyptus yes you can have real 'friends' you meet online 😏👉👌

In my case, my best friend is like my sister. I love her to death and we rarely talk. When we do reconnect its like old times with the same inside jokes. We may not know everything currently happening in our lives but its the past and the connection in our hearts that keeps us close friends.

A true friend imo would be someone u can talk anything without having any second thought.
While reading ur topic I remembered a sentence I read years ago. you tell ur funny stories to ur friend, and best friends are in those stories (smt like this). Ig they meant acquaintance for friend and best friend for "true" friends.
I don't have much experience in this case. Since I lost my "true" friends . If I had one 😅 -
@Janet
Lol that's not appropriate pic to represent what said in that pic xD -

Also forgot to say, I realized I stopped asking "can u be my friends?" Years ago. And I didn't tried to not say it.
Lol and whenever I said that then I stopped talking with those after a week or two -

gosh, that's actually a good question.imho acquaintances are ppl who come and go. nice to have around, but not necessarily ppl you'd spend too much time thinking about. functional/situational friendships on the periphery of your life.
a friend is someone you can trust, someone who is nice & fun and always delivers on their promises.
and a best friend is someone you can trust endlessly, like you can have really deep conversations about everything that's actually going on in your life. no fake stuff, no bs, 100% realness
for me it's all about trust. but the question is: can you truly trust an online friend? someone you've never met before? someone who may not even be who they claim to be?
i don't know, in most cases i usually don't.it's not impossible tho. i do believe that if you have a special connection or there's something that makes an online friends seem "real", it's fine. if you can trust an online friend, they do become a real friend eventually imo.
also i dislike ppl who say "can we be friends???" too
like... no, that's not how this thing works lol
