What is the most terrifying thing that has happened in your life?

  • Okay so this could be paranormal or not, as long as it caused you fear, it counts.

For me it was a dream I had. This is how it happened, I was a kid, come home from soccer practice, it's late at night, and I am exhausted. I take a shower and go to my room to play some CoD, I go to bed around 8 because I was super tired. I almost instantly sleep. As soon as my eyes close the dream starts, I see a big field and a hot day with the sun above us, I see a man that looks like my dad but not exactly and we are just digging some ground and I had a kind of pick as I was making rows in the ground. In an instant I was in a different place that felt far from where I just was I felt scared and a little panicked and if that wasn't bad enough, it was night time and pitch black. Then I woke up and it was time for school. This felt like I skipped an entire night of sleep. Almost like a 5 minute nap but the clock didn't lie. I remember this dream in vivid detail, even after all this time I still do. About a year later, my family was at the table telling scary stories and my mom had mentioned that my dad had been kidnapped by witches when he was younger. My family owns a ranch and he said that when he was working at the field with his dad he had been transported away from the field. He said it felt like an instant change, a blink and poof in a different spot. To make matters worse it was pitch black out. I remember hearing this story and covering my ears because I really didn't want to hear it out of fear, I knew that the dream was that and it honest to God scared me so much. I had trouble sleeping after that because I was a terrified of that dream. My dad said that he just made his way back and my grandparents were worried and that they thought he wondered off during the day. I tried telling my dad about my dream some time after but he didn't believe me of course. That's been by far the scariest thing I've had happen to me.

TL;DR I had a scary dream when I was a kid and it was a actually a scary moment my dad had lived when he was a kid.

  • I have a lot of terrifying moments myself, most of which were dreams that came true and some physical happenings.
As child then I always saw terrible accident scenes in my sleep, when I wake up, two or three days later these accidents actually happens. I was too scared to let anyone know about this because I felt they would see me as evil but I wasn't evil I just happen to have really scary dreams that happen real life.
One day in my sleep, I dreamt and saw myself being chased by some people without faces, I was too scared I just kept running for my life but it was as if my steps were ordered towards a direct by the chase and when I finally got tired of running, as I stopped I found myself in front of a graveyard and was told " that is yours, go in" immediately I woke up sweating profusely, I couldn't even speak out of soo much fear, I was just staring at the wall. But that wasn't even the scariest for me lol

  • @xoyee I have always been curious as to why these dreams happen. I can't imagine being in your place, that would definitely scar me for a really long time. I have a reoccurring dream of crashing in a white car and it scares me so much because I happen to drive a white car. Do you still have dreams like this? What was your most recent? I would love to read it! :)

  • @svper I fully understand how you feel having dreams of car crash, its really terrifying. Well, I have stopped having those dreams a long time ago, " pls don't think of it as been religious" but what I did was draw closer to God, I started speaking in tongues, started using the word of God for every situation I encountered, I did this continuously until I got use to it and the truth is it really worked, today I'm free from such dreams. Yes they might try to show up once a while but because of how soaked my spirit has become in God's word, sometimes I speak in tongues from my sleep and that settles it.
Dreams are spiritual and controlled by unseen forces, so to break out from such spiritual bondage you need to go into a spiritual battle, like serious prayers and speaking in tongues backed by God's word. You can not fight the spiritual in the physical world.

  • body slowly went into shock after not eating enough and having hyperthroidism. almost died after hyperventilating in a blizzard. almost drowned in a swamp

  • @mikeJB I hope everything went okay and you didn't end up with long lasting effects. I guess these are the risks of such an adventurous life. I would not be able to imagine being in such fear like that. Props for being able to make it out of life threatening situations like that.
