I wouldn't see any difference between destroying it when it's not deactivated coz it's gonna destroy sth else in the process not intended to be destroyed and if I used it, it's been used to destroy sth I intended to destroy. So if I destroyed it deactivated, then I haven't used it and there's a clear difference shown me using it and destroying it deactivated
