@KaViNdU Yeah That's right too :)
anyone want in on a decent conversation about why celebs get paid too much??
-
My teacher once said: "It infuriates me how celebrities earn more per week than we working people earn per year." As regular folks, whats ur take on this?
-
As regular folk- I don't care ¯_(ツ)_/¯

@Don_ being apathetic isnt something to be proud of u know
-
@mao I don't feel pathetic?
Kid -
@Don_ apathetic not pathetic lmao
-
@Don_ it means not caring
-
@mao Envy and Care are two different things 😄
I do care about real issues, what you're talking about is your jealousy of someone earning on a different level than you.
Now that's called being pathetic -
@don (i cant seem to post my reply so im sending it here)
i see, so u are not seeing the underlying issues here huh? If you cant see how giving celebs larger wages than the rest of the workers, e.g (health workers, teachers, commoners, farmers etc.) it actually disincentivizes people to study and become established workers, it would then instead incentivize them to pursue entertainment and acting career because they BELIEVE they can get easy money. This could then affect the economic status and the work force of a certain country, eventually leading to its economic downfall. Ur mistaken if you think im a shallow person who is easily jealous of other peoples achievements. I know my worth, my capabilities and talent. And no, im not pathetic. Not seeing the underlying issue like how u missed it is what's pathetic. -

@mao okay

@mao Business and Economics. Demand and supply. Celebrities bring a lot of money to the companies or whoever they are working for. There is no such thing as fairness, just business. That’s why they are being paid that much, its not too much, it’s the amount they bring themselves. For example footballers (soccer). Its a famous sport and billions of people watch them play, pay for tickets, etc. Therefore they bring a lot of money to their clubs, the sport in general. Therefore, they are being paid a lot. I am not saying this is fair, but this is how it works.
-
@mao ugh
-
@Vlad_21 so ur basically saying that in this world people value entertainment a lot-- the more the watchers, the more the profit, the more these celebrities are being paid. Is no one going to correct this system? Health workers, military personnel, teachers, etc.--the people who are actually making an impact in the world should be given the spotlight, don't u think? As regular folks i know we probably cant do anything right now, but i hope after this pandemic people can see what's truly valuable, and what type of career should we really empower.
-
@mao tell your prof to stfu and change career.
-
@mao As long as there are greedy, immoral people in charge, nothing is going to change. They don’t care about fairness. That’s how the world of business/economy works most of the time nowadays.
-
@Vlad_21 hmm i guess so.
-
I can discuss
-
They are overpaid because unfortunately nowadays they are (false) teachers more followed and listened to than real teachers .. it is up to us to change and decide who to follow
