Scientists use olive oil to discover new universal physics law

Physicists at the Dutch research institute AMOLF used olive oil in an experiment on light phase transitions.
The scientists found that light would behave the same way in atoms, superconductors and high energy physics.
The discovery can have applications in new computing and sensing systems.

@kaia_ indeed it's fascinating, all my life whatever I've studied everywhere I've seen how these great people find great achievements by generating ideas from our daily life objects and thier natural behaviour around us.There many examples, for eg two days ago i was reading about the fatigue behaviour of isotropic materials and these two Japanese guys Matshuishi & Endo discovered a way to solve it. They were carrying out research on cycle counting and fatigue. They got idea of this method while watching flow of rain through Pagoda roof house and hence named it as rain flow counting.

@Bill-Dhivid You’re right.. Their heightened curiosity motivated them to come up with theories from fundamental nature of all things. See? Even the motion, forces and energy of the rain flow can lead to a new scientific discovery.

@kaia_ well I've something for you too, few days ago i read how Environmental Engineers are studying new materials,fabrics for face cover. Researchers from Missouri University of Science and Technology decided to test a few common household materials.

@Bill-Dhivid I heard that too. Our community has been talking about that filtration test because indeed we study the air we breathe, the water we drink, the land we roam, and everything in between... I certainly appreciate all their recent interest in face cover quality. I wish i could team up with those talented engineers and medical expert!
