Artificial Intelligence or Data Mining?

What’s the better choice of the two?

Actually you need both. Artificial intelligence (as it is now) is good at creating strategies to maximize income or transportation costs or things like that. Data mining on the other hand allows you to show certain trends and connections you need to make educated decisions. So you need the second to check if the first does a good job, and to feed it new priorities or make decisions that are outside of the AI's scope.
Once artificial intelligence reaches general intelligence however, we might have rung in the end of the world (we are nowhere near close to this)... Then it is propably better than whatever we can do through data mining and thus concludes we are no longer necessary if you know what I mean...

Has anyone seen that film where Joaquin Phoenix falls in love with his Scarlet Johanssen-voiced phone? I haven't seen it. If it has a happy ending, I'll vote for the AI.
It's hard to see why data-mining is a thing, though. Particularly in Britain, we have no clever, statistical trend to our lives, apart from our desire to be as stereotypically rich as possible while doing the least amount of work.

It's because we germans do the mining, and the working :nerd_face:

@petrapark3r True dat.

I agree with @petrapark3r . Both AI and Data Mining are important...I won't choose one of em cuz you can't solve or decipher the conundrums without both. I guess both of them equally contribute to provide a better insight into anything.
