Guys I just wanna say sum real quick

Alright so I just got off the phone with my best friend. His name is Houston and honestly he is the best guy in the whole world but he doesn’t know it. He’s in a relationship with an amazing girl and he believes he doesn’t deserve her when he deserves her and so much more. My best friend has been through literal hell and back. And I love him so much for it because we can relate to each other’s experiences. See the issue is is that me and him are both really really close and we’re both having relationship issues at the moment. So we are trying to help each other out while still helping ourselves. Me and him just stayed on the phone for an hour just talking, about our issues, about life, and about god. And I just want to say that when you have a beautiful person in your life don’t ever let them go. And don’t ever let them go to sleep wondering how they mean to you. I just spent one of the best hours I’ve had with my friend just talking about life and I couldn’t ask for a better hooman to be beside me. Now enough about my bragging about my guy friend tell me about y’all friend! Do you have a best friend? I had a best friend like that as well back in high school. She was an amazing person and I really found a kindred spirit within her, but things didn't work out. You see, she was a grade under me. In fact, we met in band camp her freshman year and were friends almost immediately. I can even remember the conversation we were having when we did first meet. It was a stupid argument between me and another kid over what the best sport was and she just inserted herself into the conversation. We were both on the sideline (faking injuries since we didn't really care for it) so, eventually the conversation melted into just the two of us. From there, we became friends! The problems started my junior year (her sophomore) and by this time I had developed a major crush on her. But, she ended up dating my cousin who was in the same grade as me (and also my bestfriend to this very day). As things go, she started talking to me less and less until we were almost strangers again. When they broke up, she wiggled her way back into my life slowly but surely, but I was a little dramatic bastard back then and pretty much thought the world was out to get me so... I guess I needed some sort of validation that she actually wanted to be in my life (stupid, I know), and we started fighting all the time and towards the end of my senior year, some things were said that shouldn't have been said and we haven't spoken since. I'm in my second year of college now and I can't help but think about her to this day. It's not about me being in love with her anymore. I'm older and a lot wiser than I was back then so I just really want to apologize for being the way I was. Things could be a lot different, but I was dramatic as hell back then. I cringe every time I think about it.
I don't know how old you are, but you seem pretty young. I assume still in high school. If so, just know that none of your problems are as big as they seem. When real world hits you, it's not a pretty sight. Enjoy this time and cherish that friendship for every second you have it. If it blossoms into more, then so be it. I can tell you really love him so do whatever it takes to maintain that!

@Vampire_Queen I don't think so. I caused her a ton of grief and it kills me every day. I can't even imagine she thinks about it. Hopefully she lives a beautiful life though.

@Vampire_Queen that's really nice.. to have that someone who is always ready and never gets tired listening to you no matter what mood you have. I don't have best friends, I'm not a fan of acclaiming them my best friend. I'm happy to know things like this do still exist. Congratulations! you have your best friend.. I hope his gf and your bf are okay with this and they don't get jealous :P
