Enlighten me about the Philippine marriage traditions
-
I was invited to my friend’s wedding. He is now happily married to his Filipina wife and they are doing quite good in their businesses both here in the US and in the Philippines. However, as I attended their wedding, there were these ceremonies that I do not understand--- like the pinning of money bills to their wedding clothes and a night away from each other. I do not really see the significance of these to their marriage. I am sorry if I sound like an ignorant person here but I guess this is just me being a foreign man. Why do they do this? Can anyone share some insights regarding Philippine marriage traditions?
