Does religion play a significant role in your life??

I was just wondering how religious youth are today?
Does religion matter to you? Do you believe in a supernatural entity?

@malicealice To me religion is just another form of politics. But I do know God (the unknown God) exist, no one here can argue that with me coz I know what I'm talking about. BTW I'm a Christian and before people start to be ash Christianity was never a religion, it's as the years went on ppl made it a religion, check the archives.

Let me elaborate to you, what I meant. We all believe in humanity either apparently or unapparently. When someone asks us for help, we don't interrogate to him about his believes. We just help him without any apprehension. We help him because our humanity forces us to do so. Hence, the humanity is our universal religion. Religion was relevent when it was formed hundreds if not thousands of years ago. It was made for the people of that time where they couldn't explain natural phenomena in any other way or needed to give them basic definition of right and wrong. If you do wrong man in the sky will punish you. Priests also taught them basic hygiene, etc, etc. But the problem now is that people still desperately cling on to these outdated belief's and proceed to try and justify them in today's terms which is ridiculous. Religion only serves one purpose right now and that's dividing us in terms of religion. Boy and girl likes each other but girl says her family won't accept it because of the religious difference. Family kills daughter for having a relationship with a guy of another religion. You see where I'm going with this ?

I believe that at the core of all the religions, similar principles and values are cherished. And I try to follow these values, not a particular religion as such.

religion brings the familiarity on one rope. makes it much easier for living.

It’s total bullshit. Everything happens based on 100% natural processes, some of which are random or at least unpredictable.

@malicealice Yes, to me religion is the way i brought up by my parents, it’s my identity, my way of finding peace and perspective to define how universe works. But i never agree in comparing or categorizing people by their religions, because afterall we all brought up in different ways but are able to write our own paths.

@malicealice So church was where I spent every Sunday as a kid. Bible class in the morning, then church, stay for a fundraiser, then play on the playground. It was the routine every Sunday.
After we moved when I was 7 years old, my mom pulled away and I never went to church with her. Not going to get into some super long life story here, i promise. But my mom didnt tell me to go anymore, and there were a lot of things i didnt have a choice about.
I dont go to church for God anymore. Bcuz tbh I dont know if Im a theist or an atheist at this point. I go because its the one factor in my life that Ive ever had a choice in. Ive been forced to go to school, somewhat forced to pick the career i want. But yet I had the option to go and be apart of a group. And so the faith part for me...not that important
But i guess you could say I have an active religious life

I think religion was formed to give people a sense of purpose in life and maybe also to instill fear of doing bad deeds. In the past when there was no proper system for punishing people who commit crimes maybe the religion helped by using the idea of a higher power watching over you and delivering some amount of retribution for your wrong doings. Anyways, coming to my life it doesn't play any role of significance and so I have been an atheist for some time now.

I am an atheist and a natural skeptic.
A lot of people will say "I know that (insert god, spiritually, or superstition here) is real because I feel it and I believe it."
